POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is responsible for leading the Financial Reporting and controls for few of the countries within Africa and ME 1UL structure. This will include covering the end-to-end processes within scope, support the deployment of Regional Controllership across the 1UL region, drive continuous improvement and discipline across the 3 Tiers.
The RTR MO delivery manager will report to the Senior RTR MO delivery manager and will lead a team of 2-3 WL1s. The role will be based out of the Bangalore hub in India.
He/ She will partner closely with the key Market Finance stakeholders, mainly Country Controllers. He/she will work closely with the 3PSP service provider to ensure high quality service provided.

This position provides the leadership, management, and the vision to ensure that the RTR Operations have appropriate direction, operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures to effectively manage service delivery across all countries in scope. The role offers a unique opportunity to partner with the senior leaders of Unilever Finance, notable in-market Controllers, GCAD and ComEx as a whole.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
• Take overall responsibility of the end-to-end financial accounting reporting & process for the countries serviced
• Drive and motivate the team to perform at high levels of performance in the role of a senior team member and to provide subject matter expertise for the countries in scope;
• Review consolidated weekly, monthly and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with Global- GCAD requirements
• Provide subject matter expertise for specific local accounting operations for a country, within the overall context of the harmonized operating model
• Ensure accounting rules are properly applied for both management and financial accounts in compliance with corporate standards
• Take ownership as the steward of the Balance Sheet in accordance with IFRS.
• Add value and take on additional responsibility by actively participating in country meetings with non-Finance stakeholders to coordinate streamlining of processes across business operations with the Middle Office
• Guide the team and review / govern the compliance with controls
• Coordinate the external audit with designated auditors of Unilever
• SPOC to Regional Controllers
• Governance of 3PSP partners
• Back-up to Senior Manager-SDM RTR
• Support with execution of strategic initiatives / projects, including, simplification / efficiency and standardization projects

Experiences & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree: Finance and Accounting / CPA / CA preferred with relevant experience
• Strong Financial Accounting skills with IFRS knowledge
• Strong knowledge of key Finance processes in R2R area; experience in RTR is an advantage
• Strong control mindset / understanding of key GFCF / SOX / Internal & external audit requirements, BS hygiene and account reconciliation requirements
• External Auditor experience is a plus
• Experience in similar role in a shared service center or local accounting team
• Knowledge of a second jurisdiction is beneficial

o Ability to apply professional knowledge in accounting provisions, accounting principles, preparation, audit and disclosure requirements to make appropriate judgments and recommend solutions
o Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret problems / data gathered from a variety of sources
o Strong leadership and team management skills with influencing capabilities

Preferred additional skills:
• Strong knowledge of Unilever Financial Accounting Policies, SCOA and R2R relevant GFCF controls
• SAP knowledge in financial accounting and R2R tools that are implemented in Unilever
• Strong knowledge and experience of Unilever's Global functions especially Record to Report
• Experience in Unilever Finance especially in MCO / Country controlling and or global expertise roles would be preferred
