Position: Assistant Manager - Data Analyst
Location: Mumbai
Main Job Purpose:
The Data Analyst supports the Marketing Procurement Business Group (BG) Leads in delivering data-driven insights and reporting that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Unilever’s Marketing Procurement operations. The role enables better decision-making through advanced analytics, dashboarding, and data visualisation, helping drive portfolio strategy, reduce fragmentation, leverage scale, and unlock 4G growth.

The team ensures materials and services are responsibly sourced, drives financial value through competitive buying, and partners closely with the business to meet consumer, customer, and employee needs. With a strong focus on digitalization, Procurement embeds advanced analytics, tools, and data-based decision making across operations. ABOUT Marketing Procurement
Unilever’s Marketing Procurement team is responsible for Unilever’s sourcing and supplier strategy and execution for all third party spend across Marketing. We support the business requirements of Brands, Business Groups, Markets, and functions to drive 4G growth through strategic supplier management, cost and value management, sustainability and innovation, aligned with Unilever’s Compass. The team manages an annual spend of 6.5B Euro with a supplier base of about 9,000.
This role supports Marketing Procurement BG Leads in partnering with Global Brand Teams and Business Units to strengthen Marketing Procurement performance, streamline processes, build capabilities, and align strategies across markets and portfolios
The Data Analyst will support the Marketing Procurement BG leads by providing the data insights and creating decks to support increased efficiency of our marketing procurement by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, prioritizing higher impact areas, leveraging technology and data, and drive performance that unlocks 4G growth for Unilever.
Key Accountabilities:
• Collaborate with Marketing Procurement BG Leads to drive data-based analysis and insights.
• Extract, consolidate, and manage datasets from internal tools, platforms, and systems. • Conduct data analysis and visualisation, transitioning work from Excel to Python and Power BI.
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Prepare high-quality presentations using advanced PowerPoint skills for senior stakeholders.
Support reporting across the four Business Groups: Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care, and Foods.
• Develop data-driven insights aligned to portfolio strategies and business needs across the marketing value chain.
• Interpret marketing spend data to support future-fit procurement strategies. • Ensure alignment with Unilever Compass, BG priorities, market needs, Procurement with Purpose, and Marketing Procurement principles
Experience Required:
Qualification/experience
• 3 - 5+ years of data analytics experience,
• Understanding of marketing value chains, marketing trends and FMCG is preferable.
Technical Skills & Competencies
• Strong data analytics and information management background.
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities; ability to create clear, data-led narratives.
• Hands-on experience transitioning analytics from Excel into Power BI or other dashboarding tools.
• Strong data manipulation, cleansing, and analytical modelling skills.
• Experience with data warehouses, reporting frameworks, and dashboard development.
• Ability to convert complex datasets into actionable insights and compelling visual stories.
• Proficiency in visualising data across tools (e.g., Power BI, PowerPoint) General Skills & Competencies

Travel:
