JOB PURPOSE 

This role is part of the Global Design Centre for Laundry liquid/ unit dose capsules. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering Unilever’s laundry detergent products for an array on exciting global brands like Dirt is Good and Surf.

We are looking for motivated, inquisitive, digitally minded and passionate people to join us in bringing through innovative new technologies to drive the future of the laundry and clothes care business.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

You will be expected to lead many aspects of the product development cycle, with the opportunity to work on both longer-term technology opportunities as well as fast paced brand facing innovation projects.

• You will be defining, planning and executing work schedule for the team as well as your own day to day experimental work schedule, and ensure compliance with COSHH and GLP disciplines.
• You will be partnering/ working with Unilever cross-functional teams and external partners to identify and screen new technologies
• You will conduct product characterisation studies including rheology, physical/sensory evaluations and storage stability tests where required.
• You will be competent in generating and managing simultaneous sets of complex data, and regularly presenting outputs & looking for opportunities to expand our digital mindset & capabilities.


ALL ABOUT YOU 

We are looking for people with the right mindset, experience and competencies:

• A degree (or equivalent) in a Science or Engineering discipline. Chemistry background is essential; curiosity in the latest innovation and technology is essential.
• Expertise in polymer chemistry with interest/understanding of water soluble films
• Practical laboratory formulating experience, data interpretation and experimental design
• Strong teamwork & planning
• Highly-motivated with resourceful problem solving skills/practical creativity
• Proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills and an ability to interpret data to pull out key insights
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to bring technologies and innovations to life in a clear and engaging way
• Digitally enabled with strong bias for action in design of experiments.
• Passionate about brands and their consumers & a creative thinker

Recruitment Fraud 

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate. 

How is Unilever tackling this? 

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down. 

What can I do? 

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
