WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Accountable for the Processing Technology agenda of Cooking aids portfolio (such as Bouillon, Seasoning, Meal maker in cube/liquid/powder/granule technology) including capability building, technology deployment, risk management, and delivery of the processing capability roadmap in alignment with business strategy.
  • Represent R&D Processing in regional and global technical forums, influencing standards, governance, technology strategy, and best-practice deployment across the organization.
  • Lead the development, optimization, and industrialization of manufacturing processes across Unilever Sourcing Units and Third-Party Manufacturers for innovation, renovation, sustainability, and cost optimization projects, ensuring successful scale-up from laboratory to commercial production.
  • Provide technical leadership in process capability and operational excellence, utilizing advanced predictive modelling, statistical process control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DoE), digital tools, and data analytics to improve process robustness, product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop long-term processing technology roadmaps and identify emerging technologies, automation opportunities, and manufacturing innovations that enable future growth, process superiority, sustainability, and competitive advantage.
  • Technically lead cross-functional and international project teams across R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Marketing to deliver complex projects and accelerate innovation deployment.
  • Serve as the senior R&D technical authority and key business partner for assigned manufacturing sites and third-party suppliers, providing expertise in process design, process optimization, quality improvement, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Lead complex manufacturing investigations and continuous improvement initiatives relating to Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Efficiency, Waste Reduction, and Sustainability.
  • Partner with country and regional R&D teams to define processing requirements, manage technical risks, and ensure successful adaptation of technologies across multiple markets and manufacturing networks.
  • Lead strategic initiatives in process capability, manufacturing excellence, digitalization, and factory transformation, delivering measurable business impact through innovation and efficiency improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Unilever R&D Functional Excellence Standards, Consumer Safety Framework, Quality Systems, Best Proven Practices, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout product and process development activities. Act as the subject matter expert for GMP and HACCP implementation, ensuring manufacturing processes consistently meet.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or equivalent experience in capability field
  • At least 10 years experience in FMCG R&D and process development
  • Experience within Food category with proven track record is desirable
  • High English proficiency. Good oral and written communication skills, and solid presentation skills are required
  • Good Planning and organization of assigned tasks and trials
  • Has a good knowledge of data/digital and exploit tools effectively to manage Data, Information & Knowledge effectively. Can transform data into insight/ actions and make decisions based on information at hand
  • Demonstrates natural curiosity for food innovation and technology. Brings technology insights into project team and takes actions on them.
  • Ability to work in virtual and multi-cultural environment. Excellent team working skills and is able to work under pressure/complexity.
