PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Unilever is embarking on a business transformation program which will transform its existing operating model to a simplified, global model which will be able to adopt AI enabled processes.

Key enabler of the program is replacement of existing 4 regional SAP ECC based ERP systems with a Global fit to standard SAP S4HANA system.

Purpose of Job

As the Environment Manager (Non-ERP), you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of non-ERP satellite systems into the Core ERP ecosystem. You will work closely with product domains that own these satellite products, collaborating to maintain operational availability, performance, and continuous evolution of all integrated non-ERP systems within the scope of the program—across both non-production and production environments.

You will lead end-to-end readiness of environments for critical program milestones-such as SIT, UAT, and go-live-partnering with integration, data, and product teams to deliver environments that are resilient, compliant, and high-performing.

You will provide hands-on technical leadership for managing and stabilizing environments impacted by the transition from four SAP ECC systems to a unified ERP. This includes ensuring seamless integration of applications within these environments and maintaining their readiness across non-production and production landscapes. Your responsibilities will include optimizing environment configurations for scalability, cost-efficiency, and resilience, while driving fit-to-standard adoption and clean-core principles to enable process efficiency and innovation.

Key Accountabilities

1. Integrated Systems Environment Roadmap

  • Manage the integrated systems (non-ERP) environment roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall program milestones and release schedules.

  • Support legacy system dual-run operations and decommissioning activities as ERP cutovers progress.

  • Partner with Product Domains, Integration and SAP technical services for managing environments for interim state.

  • Partnering closely with Product Leads/Managers in Technology Team, Integration, SAP technical services and Product Domains to identify best possible environment strategy for interim requirements

2. Environment Provisioning & Testing Readiness

  • Partner with integration, data, and product teams to make non-production environments available for all testing milestones.

  • Drive operational readiness for systems transitioning into production, including validation of backup, disaster recovery (DR), and support handover procedures.

  • Partner with Product Domains to ensure timely availability of environments for impacted applications requiring integration into the core ERP and comprehensive end-to-end testing

3. Monitoring, Performance & Observability

  • Oversee system monitoring enablement, performance tuning, and availability KPIs across critical integrated applications.

  • Implement and track observability tools and dashboards measuring environment performance metrics.

4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare weekly performance and environment readiness reports for leadership and technical streams.

  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and lessons learned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10–12 years’ experience in environment management and operations across integrated technology landscapes.

  • Very strong technical background to comprehend and understand Environment related challenges.

  • Good appreciation of ERP functionality to define and derive environment strategy for integrating applications.

  • Working knowledge of application integration, middleware (BTP , API gateways), and monitoring solutions (e.g., FRUN, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor).

  • Strong understanding of testing lifecycle environment coordination and operational readiness.

  • Familiarity with archiving, EOL/EOS compliance, and lifecycle management processes.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and globally distributed teams.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
