This role is critical in fostering a respectful, compliant, and high-performing workplace. As the face of HR on the factory floor, you will provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, lead workplace investigations, coach leaders through complex people issues, and help drive a positive employee experience across a 24/7 operation.

This position requires schedule flexibility, including weekly evening and night-shift coverage, to ensure HR support is available across all shifts.

Job Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Workplace Investigations

  • Serve as the trusted HR advisor for employees, supervisors, and managers on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and performance management issues.
  • Lead and conduct thorough, objective, and timely workplace investigations involving policy violations, employee complaints, misconduct allegations, and other sensitive matters.
  • Partner with leaders to assess risk, determine appropriate corrective actions, and ensure consistent policy application.
  • Document investigations and employee relations cases accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Identify trends in employee relations concerns and recommend proactive solutions to improve workplace culture and reduce risk.

Leadership Coaching & Performance Management

  • Coach frontline leaders and managers on performance management, conflict resolution, accountability, and employee development.
  • Support leaders in navigating difficult employee conversations and disciplinary processes.
  • Drive consistent execution of performance management practices that strengthen engagement and business results.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Champion employee engagement initiatives and help create a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Partner with site leadership to implement HR programs and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable HR presence across all shifts.
  • HR Programs & Compliance
  • Manage medical accommodations and interactive processes in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead and support key HR projects and program implementations from planning through execution, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and company standards.

Talent & Onboarding

  • Manage and coordinate the new hire onboarding experience, partnering with Safety, Quality, Operations, and Training teams to ensure successful employee integration.
  • Help new employees build strong connections to the site culture, values, and expectations from day one.
  • Partner with corporate Talent Acquisition on labor planning & hiring initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist or Employee Relations experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution/warehousing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations, managing employee relations issues, performance management, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations best practices.
  • Experience managing accommodations and sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS platforms such as Workday or similar systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs) and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and organizational interventions.
  • Kronos experience preferred.
  • Ability to build credibility quickly, influence leaders, and navigate challenging employee situations with sound judgment.



Pay: The pay range for this position is $71,400 to $107,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
