Job Purpose:

You will grow Home Care’s Technical Perfumery expertise to become a major strategic advantage for Unilever.   

The fragrances you touch will drive the desire of Unilever Brands worldwide and you will become a recognised leader in driving perfumery-led innovation across the Home Care portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Home Care Fragrance Design Team, you will partner with the Home Care Innovation Team, and Science & Technology Team to deliver the next generation of Home Care products – enabling extraordinary fragrance experiences for our consumers.
  • Shape existing and future fragrance portfolios to optimise the superiority, performance and cost.
  • Work with internal teams and external Fragrance House partners to ensure full regulatory compliance with Unilever Standards.
  • Deliver outstanding fragrance experiences that delight consumers across global brands.
  • Play a key role in embedding fragrance as a driver of innovation and differentiation

All about you:

We are looking for someone with the right mindset, attitude and competencies to lead.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Degree (BSc or above) in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Qualified as a perfumer through a recognised perfumery school or equivalent on-the job training.
  • A strong track record of delivery as a Technical Perfumer within consumer goods.
  • Hands-on experience of setting fragrance design rules and/or optimising fragrances for market success.
  • Experience partnering with analytical / measurement experts to build predictive models for successful fragrance design.
  • Knowledge of the compliance and sustainability challenges of fragrance raw materials. 
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complexity in to solutions.
  • Confidence leading yourself and others to achieve breakthrough results.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external perfumers to design and optimise fragrance.
