Job Title: NAL&I Quality Manager

Role Purpose:
Lead and manage all aspects of Quality across the supply chain, ensuring compliance, product safety, and customer satisfaction from raw material sourcing to final product delivery. This role is accountable for implementing robust quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong quality culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Systems & Compliance

Implement and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with regulatory requirements and Unilever standards.
Ensure adherence to GMP practices, HACCP principles, and sustain external accreditations.
Approve all SOPs impacting product quality, including stability studies, reprocessing, and rework decisions.
Establish robust systems for analysis, internal audits, product release, and process validation to guarantee product integrity.

Risk Management & Audits

Identify and manage quality risks through structured escalation and periodic reviews.
Conduct internal audits and self-inspections, ensuring timely closure of gaps.
Liaise with regulatory authorities (FDA, Weights & Measures Department) to ensure 100% compliance with guidelines.

Operational Excellence

Drive process validation and product release integrity while adopting cost-effective measures.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence tools.
Ensure adherence to SHE guidelines and compliance with CSHEC audit requirements.

People Development & Training

Coach and develop quality teams to build a skilled, customer-focused, and performance-oriented function.
Promote ownership of quality across all operational functions through site-wide training programs.
Equip teams with essential skills to achieve individual, functional, and organizational goals.

Customer & Supplier Interface

Ensure supplier quality compliance and manage customer complaints effectively.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for out-of-specification issues.
Drive Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) to achieve target DPMU and QLI metrics.


Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Quality roles within FMCG or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Certifications in HACCP, ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma preferred.


Key Skills:

Strong knowledge of microbiology, analytical techniques, and quality systems.
Excellent decision-making skills in uncertain situations.
Leadership and team management capabilities.
Familiarity with digital quality tools and data analytics for trend analysis.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.


Performance Metrics (KPIs):

Compliance audit scores and regulatory adherence.
Reduction in customer complaints and out-of-specification incidents.
Achievement of DPMU and QLI targets.
Timely closure of audit gaps and implementation of QIPs.
Training completion rates and competency improvement across teams.
