Position: Asst Procurement Manager, Nepal

Duration: (Short Time Assignment based role in Nepal with 18 months duration.)

Location: Nepal

Summary

Responsible for leading the end‑to‑end procurement function for Unilever Nepal Ltd., covering Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), 3P Collaborative manufacturer, MBS, Sales & Marketing spends, Warehouse & Logistics sourcing, Primary and Secondary Logistics and engineering and overhead-related procurement. This role includes developing robust sourcing strategies, driving high‑impact negotiations, pricing, forecasting & budgeting, and managing strategic supplier relationships to ensure the cost‑effective, compliant, and timely acquisition of goods and services that enable business continuity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Leadership & Operations

  • Lead procurement operations and guide the procurement team to ensure cost effective, on time and seamless sourcing of materials and services.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring reliability, quality, and timely supplies.
  • Direct procurement activities to achieve company objectives, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
  • Talent development

2. Strategy Development & Category Management

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Lead Category Management initiatives to deliver benefits such as price reductions, payment‑term optimization, rebates, cost avoidance, and added value.
  • Monitor market trends, technological developments, and regulatory changes to integrate best practices into procurement strategies.
  • Forecasting and budgeting.

3. Contracting & Negotiations

  • Conduct high‑impact negotiations with CM to secure favorable commercial and contractual terms.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal frameworks, and regulatory standards.

4. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management

  • Evaluate supplier performance through structured reviews and audits.
  • Build long‑term partnerships that drive continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and cost efficiency.
  • Address supplier service or quality issues promptly to minimize operational disruption.

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams such as Factory, Planning, Customer Service, Logistics, R&D, Quality, Finance, IT, for New innovation and Product development to align procurement plans with business needs.
  • Participate in pricing, forecasting, project budgeting and scheduling discussions to ensure supply feasibility and realistic planning.
  • Provide timely procurement solutions that support business continuity and innovation.

6. Process Improvement & Governance

  • Identify improvement areas across procurement processes and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct Requests for Quotes (RFQs)/tenders ensuring transparency, competitiveness, and value maximization.
  • Implement global procurement tools, processes, and standards in collaboration with the Global Process & Tools
  • Oversee procurement KPIs and ensure accurate, consistent reporting.

7. Risk, Compliance & Legal Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, sourcing policies, and legal requirements.
  • Support reviewing & drafting of contract agreements with suppliers/service providers
  • Manage strategic and operational supply chain risks proactively.
  • Demonstrate substantial understanding of the legal aspects of procurement and supplier contracts.

8. Project & Multi‑Task Management

  • Handle multiple procurement projects simultaneously, driving them to timely completion.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and broader business processes.

This is an STA Based role in Nepal with 18 months duration.

Experience Requirement:

· Min 2 yrs of experience in Procurement/Factory supply chain/ Supply chain other verticals

Education: Any Graduation
