Job Title: Planning Team Leader

Business Function: Supply Chain Planning

Location: Port Sunlight Factories

JOB PURPOSE

The operational planning team leader will lead a team of line planners who are responsible for both short term line scheduling and raw/pack material call off. The team leader will be accountable for signing off of weekly production plans, factory KPIs (service/inventory/ obsoletes/cost), rough cut capacity plans, transformation projects and operational escalations. Alongside this, team leader will also act as line planner fulfilling normal roles and responsibilities if needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Leadership & support of sourcing unit planning team

·Accountable for SU Planning KPIs (service/inventory/DBNR/obsoletes/cost)

·Accountable for SU capacity management, RCCP / LTCP

·Manage the master production schedule including optimising the production plan to meet the customer requirements

·Based on demonstrated output, review planning indices and maintain line capacity to ensure production plans are achievable within known factory constraints

·Maintain optimum material/finished good stock levels in line with stock models

·Lead run strategy for site (DBNR) to maximise cost efficiency of production vs customer demand

·Management of end of life stock to minimise obsoletes and write-off

·Daily call-off of materials & co-ordination with suppliers in line with prodution requirements (including push backs & pull forwards / urgent requirement changes)

·Daily delivery co-ordination with suppliers/hauliers/Ultralogistics

·Accountable for execution of innovation projects

·Lead investigations and complete actions related to planning errors in line with continuous improvement tools / framework

·Lead crisis management & escalation

ALL ABOUT YOU

·Previous experience as production scheduler within manufacturing environment

·Strong working knowledge of use of SAP / MRP / ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

·Pro-active and analytical with ability to understand trade-offs when providing solutions to problems

·Strong communication & analytical skills

·Well developed ability to build a team/network, train & empower them and hold accountable.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
