Background & Purpose of the Job
This Condiments US Innovation Senior Brand Manager is responsible for developing world class and industry-leading innovation that drives incremental growth for the US Condiments business. This role is responsible for leading the non-Core segments of the Hellmann’s portfolio, establishing the strategy for a winning portfolio architecture and new product roadmap, creating market-making platforms and incremental line extensions, and developing breakthrough models and go-to-market launch programs that contribute to Hellmann’s’ near- and long-term growth ambitions. It reports directly to the Head of Condiments US and manages projects across both Hellmann’s-Best Foods and Maille brands.
Hellmann’s-BestFoods is an iconic brand in the US and represents around 35% of the global Condiments turnover for Unilever. This role is big, highly strategic, visible and important to the delivery of results in the US. We need someone who is passionate, driven and an absolute Foodie.
This job presents plenty of scope for independent brand work and team stewardship, cross-functional leadership plus lots of creativity. The ideal candidate would be visionary, knowledgeable about food, passionate about product superiority and chefmanship, consumer centric, and who can also manage multiple priorities, with both a strong marketing and analytical mindset. If you thrive on leading teams (cross-functionally and with agency partners), developing net-new product ideas, creating unique and incremental innovations and delivering big strategic innovation platforms, this will be a very rewarding experience. The role is supported by one direct report.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Lead Innovation for all non-Core segments of Hellmann’s-BestFoods and the Maille brand for US Foods.
Partner with our Global (BG) counterparts in developing market-making products, representing the US business’ needs and readying for successful launch in the US market
Drive Product superiority roadmap for the US business, contributing to accretive Unmissable Brand Superiority and winning competitive share.
Co-Lead resource allocation and project prioritization with Core Innovation Manager.
Champion Hellmann’s brand purpose in both “say and do” with internal and external experts.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
BA (MBA a plus) with 7+ years’ experience in Brand Marketing or Creative/Digital/PR Agency
Passion for food and innovation. Competitive drive and hustle, rooted in food culture.
Consumer centric thinker, passionate about consumer trends, insights and product quality.
Growth mindset paired with creative problem solving to both leverage models that work but also ask “why” and find opportunities to work differently
Exceptional analytics, passionate about finding insights in data and defaulting to fact-based decision making
Demonstrates fluidity in the balance of art & science – thinks differently and seeks out the magic, yet maintains a pragmatic business mindset
A good leader who has a strong strategic vision, inspires others, and drives action and accountability to push projects forward
An eye for aesthetic, design & keen attention to detail
Pay: The pay range for this position is $99,760 to $149,640. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
