Who we are looking for
We are looking for a driven, proactive, creative and resourceful Marketing Manager who will lead the full marketing agenda to take Unilever’s foods business to the next level, considering the changing consumer behaviors and growing competitive pressure in this category.
You will lead a team of Brand Managers to build stronger brand equity for our brands, spearhead social first demand generation with strong localized insights and drive strategic expansion of our portfolio, landing flavorful extensions and staying 3 steps ahead of portfolio and marketing opportunities. Strong marketing experience in creating and executing marketing projects and activations is a must, backed with good overall business and channels’ understanding.
The Purpose of Role :
Using breakthrough thinking and category, consumer, brand and customer understanding to create a clear and ambitious growth vision and strategy for the portfolio of category/brand. This is a role of high strategic importance for the category/brand team and will require a high degree of leadership as well as team management across Malaysia as well as cross functional team.

Reporting to: Head of Marketing & CSP, Home Care & Foods, MYSG
Direct reports: 1 x Senior Brand Manager, 2 x Assistant Brand Managers
Key Responsibilities :
Stay 3 steps ahead to craft a clear, ambitious growth vision & strategy for Unilever Foods
Market and Consumer Insights: Partner CMI to identify emerging trends and shifts and consumer behavior based on available broad-based data. Use this data to anticipate future market needs and craft our short and long-term strategies accordingly.
Competitive Benchmarking and Innovation: Keep track of competitor strategies and activities to identify gaps and opportunities. Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging development or sourcing of relevant portfolio and landing disruptive and highly relevant campaigns.
Integrated Business Planning: Lead the comprehensive process of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) with a detailed audit of category and brand performance, identifying clear jobs-to-be-done, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders to achieve brand and category ambitions.
Business management: Oversee the brand portfolio P&L ensuring investment in key growth drivers, and maximization of the brand mix to deliver Gross Margin and Profit Before Overheads targets (Ruthlessly prioritizing A&P choices).
Lead for executional excellence to deliver against growth vision & strategy
Brand Guardianship: Guide the team to craft and execute growth plans while adhering to global brand guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
Portfolio Development: Land relevant mixes to win in line with category growth drivers, local regulatory requirements and global/local trends.
Demand Generation: Drive social-first demand creation to be recognized as best-in-class digital marketers both locally and internationally to win awards and hearts.
Media and ROI: Build and implement integrated media plans with relevant managers/agencies. Drive ROI on all brand investments above and below the line.
Consumer-Centric Approach: Champion the consumer in all brand planning and execution, ensuring excellent execution and deployment of assets against key market needs.
Inspire and Develop Self and Others
Motivate and inspire the team to deliver our mission and vision with passion.
Lead and own projects, while managing and nurturing the team to grow into an independent and outstanding marketing force.

Travel:
10% travel is required.
Essential Experience/Skill/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in brand management/marketing, which includes category management experience in FMCG environment, with 4 years of people management experience.
Experience in Foods Category is preferred.
Proven experience in developing and implementing effective and integrated brand plans.

You are highly articulate and able to influence internal and external stakeholders (in person and in presentations). Ability to lead a complex, and large team driving a close “team grip” across the full cross functional network.
You are well verse with marketing strategy development, by using those insights and competitor analysis to anticipate market growth opportunities and to determine the markets, channels and segments to operate in.
You are excellent in planning and implementing an integrated programme of brand communication, which uses all available channels to communicate the brand’s messages to targeted consumers in the most cost-effective way.
You are excellent in bringing the brand to life in the marketplace via implementation of the core mix.
