Background & Purpose of the Job

Unilever R&D is looking for a talented Manager based in Mexico City. 

As a leader of R&D you will be responsible for a team delivering Innovation pipeline and operational projects for Unilever Food solutionsbusiness in Mex, Cam, and And. R&D activities such as formulation, packaging, sustainability, claims communication, regulatory compliance and profitability initiatives will be under your scope. You will also be the main support of the R&D Director is all Strategic subjects. You will be a part of a dynamic and flexible team where people are empowered to take ownership and responsibility to deliver results.

What You will Do

• Lead R&D strategy for Dressings, Desserts, and Scratch Cooking categories for Food Solutions for the region.

• Effectively manage a high performing team.

• Drive R&D initiatives for innovation, sustainability, digital, quality, cost savings and complexity reduction 

• Be R&D leader for technical project management.

• Support the UFS R&D Director in all Strategic related subjects.

• Manage R&D budget & spend. Manage resource allocation and priorization of activities for the team.

• Collaborate with marketing, culinary chefs, sales, supply chain and procurement to deliver projects with flawless execution.

• Strong leadership with a collaborative/partnership approach both with internal interfaces (SC/MKT/R&D) and external (Research agencies, Academia)

• Build strong relationships managing key stakeholders and customers/ operators. 

• Ensure the complianceto the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all SHE and QA policies, including the support of product claims, risk management and environmental awareness & legislation.

What You will Need to Succeed:

Education: 

Required: Bachelor of Foods Science Degree or equivalent

Experience: At least 10 years minimum of industry experience. Must have strong technical product development background within the food industry to deliver strategic category initiatives and experience in people management and top-level stakeholders forums.

Ability to create and influence strategy and lead implementation through teams.

The person taking this role will be the Technical Project Leader in Food Solutions, food service business, responsible for leading this Category from R&D sidethroughout all regions Mex CAM and AND. This is an extremely exciting role in a fast-growing business.
