JOB PURPOSE:

The role is responsible for securing the future of our planet by driving increased usage of PCR. Build partnerships – externally and internally,

experimenting new technologies, new models along the value chain and working towards the creation of a circular economy on plastics.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:

PCR Europe Strategy

  • Responsible for the global 3-5 strategy - what to buy, where to buy, how to buy, when to buy, whom to buy from.
  • Develop and implement strategies working closely with regional packaging format managers - assess needs of the market, deep value chain understanding, industry analysis.
  • Competitive supplier selection or development.
  • Benchmarking & best practices -identify metrics, tools and process to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies.
  • Initiate and drive large global change management projects e.g. complexity reduction projects (e.g. harmonisation of specifications and suppliers), resilience.
  • Support in delivering Unilever ‘s multi-year commitments on sustainable sourcing of plastics - the environment, well-being and social imperatives in the procurement of materials and services.
  • Close liaison with regional teams and strategy and insights teams on contract board and strategy council submissions.
  • Communicate PCR resin strategy with multiple stakeholders in Unilever.
  • Role also includes being the global lead on advanced recycling technologies both chemical and mechanical recycling.

Value creation

  • Overall responsible for the value creation program/competitiveness resins including but not limited to-driving price transparency through directed buy or right to audit, indices change or optimisation, competitive resin formulas including cost model approach, logistics optimisation, alternate suppliers and material approvals.
  • Work with the format procurement managers to integrate PCR sourcing strategies with business and portfolio demands, ensuring timely inputs to and OTIF execution of global/regional strategy and projects.
  • Close liaison with strategy and insights teams on contract board and strategy council submissions, cost model development and competitiveness vs the market and implementation of insights through the strategy and negotiations.
  • Collaboration with manufacturing teams in driving PCR inclusion and leveraging our buying scale to Collaborative Manufacturers (CM’s) to optimise our competitiveness.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Ensure compliance are compliant to our responsible partner policy.
  • Negotiate value driven agreements that are in line with defined commercial and legal requirements and subsequently manage the supplier relationships/SLA’s along with key stakeholders.
  • Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers.

Business partnering

  • Responsible for price forecasting ensuring accuracy and completeness of the forecast economic assumptions and communicating timely to key business stakeholders forecast updates timely for further engagements with Business Groups.
  • Share market insights that support the business with accurate price forecasting, which includes market conditions, price trends and future market trends.
  • Work with consultants like IHS, ICIS and CDI to deliver Key insights.
  • Work closely with the market procurement teams in the markets to support the launch of innovations.
  • Work closely with Tier2 material planning team and Business groups procurement operations team to ensure OTIF of service level from suppliers.
  • Work closely with the One R&D packaging reporting team and finance sustainability teams on inputs for reporting and assurance.

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
  • Fluent communication in English.
  • Strong Negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities (including finance)
  • Knowledge of business processes and SAP systems would be beneficial
  • Strong ability in managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and deadlines, with strong analytical & negotiation skills
  • Team Leadership

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in procurement or supply management roles
  • Passionate about Sustainability with proven track record of influencing internally and externally.
  • Experience on large-scale, complex change management projects with multi-stakeholder interface.
  • Experience in packaging technologies, brent crude value chains and/or waste to plastic/chemicals.
  • Understand SC production process links to materials resilience is a must experience in managing global scale crisis resilience program.
  • Ability to operate among high complexity of data, past digital experience is preferred.
