Asst Procurement Manager – Skin Cleansing
Function: Procurement – Personal Care, South Asia
Location: Mumbai, India


1. Role Purpose
The Assistant Procurement Manager – Skin Cleansing supports the end to end procurement strategy for Skin Cleansing materials across South Asia. The role focuses on value delivery through superior buying, supplier performance management, resilience building, and innovation support for key brands within the Skin Cleansing portfolio.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management
• Support the development and execution of the Skin Cleansing material category strategy aligned with regional & global PC priorities.
• Deliver annual savings targets through supplier negotiations, competitive tenders, and improved buying interventions.
• Monitor key raw materials (bars, liquids, packaging, ingredients) for price trends, market dynamics, risks and opportunities.
B. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
• Lead operational engagement with suppliers (local & global) ensuring quality, service, and compliance.
• Drive supplier performance scorecards, business reviews, and capability development where needed.
• Partner with suppliers to unlock innovation, reformulation opportunities and sustainability-led solutions.
C. Resilience & Risk Management
• Identify alternate supplier/material options to reduce single source risks across critical Skin Cleansing categories.
• Support ASA/RAS processes wherever applicable for low risk materials and work with R&D, MBS, and Supply Chain to validate partners.
• Conduct risk assessments, supply continuity planning, and monitor geopolitical or market-driven risks.
D. Cross Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Planning, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, and Global Procurement teams to land projects on time.
• Support value engineering projects, innovation launches, and SC network changes for Skin Cleansing.
• Participate in category/portfolio reviews, project war rooms, and governance forums.
E. Operational Excellence
• Manage day to day procurement operations including PO hygiene, contracting, onboarding, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure integrity in procurement processes and governance as per Unilever Code of Business Principles.
• Track KPIs (savings, service, resilience, sustainability) and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
F. Sustainability & Compliance
• Contribute to Unilever’s sustainability agenda (deforestation-free, PCR, regenerative agriculture etc.) through supplier engagement.
• Ensure supplier adherence to Responsible Sourcing Policy (RSP), quality, safety & audit norms.

Travel Requirement: 20%

3. Skills & Qualifications
Must Have
• 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience (FMCG preferred).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of FMCG manufacturing processes, especially for bar soaps & liquid cleansers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional environment and manage multiple priorities.
Good to Have
• Experience in supplier development, risk management, or resilience programs.
• Exposure to sustainability programs or regulatory environments.
• Prior experience in Personal Care or Chemicals sourcing.
