Position: Asst. Procurement Manager, Global Climate - Scope-3 Net Zero Strategic Program Management

Location: Mumbai HO

About the Role
This role is critical to supporting the delivery of Unilever’s Global Scope‑3 strategy. As Assistant Procurement Manager, Global Climate – Scope‑3 Net Zero Strategic Program Management, you will work closely with the Global Scope‑3 Net Zero Lead across program management, strategy development, program delivery, tools and process development, knowledge democratization, and communications. The role helps bring essential capabilities to enable procurement teams in delivering the climate goals.

About the Procurement Sustainability – Climate Team
The Procurement Sustainability – Climate team is responsible for the delivery of Unilever’s 2030 (near term) Climate Goal spanning across scope 1, 2 and 3 that SBTi validated. The team is structured into four sub-teams:
• Scope 1 & 2 Team: Owns program design, strategy and delivery of 100% emission reduction in our operations by 2030 (over 2015 baseline).
• Scope-3 Net Zero Team: Owns program design, strategy and delivery of Scope 3 goals (30% reduction in our FLAG emissions, and 42% reduction in our non-FLAG emissions by 2030 over 2021 baseline.
• Carbon Intelligence Team: Owns the data, reporting and digital agenda across Scope 1, 2, and 3.
• Climate Strategic Planning and Advocacy: Owns the overall climate strategy integration, performance management, advocacy strategy execution in collaboration with CCAS.

This role is part of Scope-3 Net Zero team.

1. PMO Ownership for Global Scope 3 Net Zero Team
• Own and lead PMO operations for the Global Scope 3 Net Zero team.
• Maintain, update, and optimize the PMO tracker across all workstreams.
• Prepare regular progress reports, summaries, and insights for senior stakeholders.
• Continuously improve PMO structures to strengthen planning, tracking, and delivery discipline.
• Establish and manage escalation pathways with the Global Scope 3 Lead.
• Proactively identify and escalate risks or delays, driving timely resolution.
• Own and maintain all PMO tools, dashboards, trackers, templates, and reporting mechanisms.

2. Global Scope 3 Net Zero Strategy & Delivery Support
Work closely with the Global Scope 3 Net Zero Lead across central workstreams:
• Embedding Climate Into Procurement Processes: Work across areas such as climate scores, portfolio climate strategies, and carbon pricing to drive integration with procurement workflows.
• Peer Benchmarking & Engagement:
o Benchmark peer climate practices and identify opportunities for cross learning.
o Support development of collaboration pathways with peer companies and industry platforms.
• Energy Transition VCI for Scope3:
o Develop collaterals to democratize Unilever’s electricity and thermal heat decarbonization knowledge for suppliers.
o Support development of global execution roadmaps for Scope 3 energy transition.
o Assist in establishing and enabling country squads in priority markets.
• Knowledge Democratization Across Procurement: Collaborate with other members of the Global Scope 3 team to identify opportunities to create collaterals, guidance materials, and structured knowledge packs that help procurement teams apply climate insights consistently.

• Process Optimization & Tool Development
o Support identification of opportunities to standardize, streamline, and strengthen processes and ways of working for Scope 3 delivery.
o Co develop new tools, templates, and mechanisms to enable more effective and efficient climate delivery, partnering closely with the Carbon Intelligence team, engaging GBS and GDT.

3. Communications Support
• Work with the Global Scope 3 Lead to maintain a pipeline of internal and external communication opportunities.
• Develop updates, dashboards, success stories, and leadership ready materials to drive stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure Supplier Climate Programme page on Unilever.com is updated with program information and new developments.
• Reorganize, maintain, and improve internal climate resource hubs (SharePoints) to ensure procurement teams have access to the latest tools, knowledge, and resources.

Qualifications & Experience
• 3+ years of experience in sustainability, procurement, climate action, or related fields; previous experience in consulting is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Scope 3 emissions and decarbonization levers.
• Experience managing multi workstream projects and coordinating across teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity and evolving priorities.
• Experience working with cross functional teams and external partners is a plus.
