Job Purpose:

As Retail Marketing Manager for the Home Care Business Unit, you will own retail marketing strategy and execution for priority customers, with a focus on Target and Walmart.

You will lead annual customer planning, agency briefing, and performance tracking, while owning high-impact initiatives such as Walmart omni-campaigns, Target retail media strategies, and real-time investment optimization to drive category growth and continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for translating brand demand into retail conversion and sales growth, by building and optimizing programs across retail media, digital shelf, and in-store activation. You will work closely with Sales, Brand, and Media teams to ensure plans are aligned—but your core accountability is delivering high-performing retail programs that drive measurable business results.

You will be part of a team that believes in doing work that matters — for people and the planet. Because here, we don’t just hire for jobs. We invite you to be part of something bigger.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop customer-specific plans that connect media, content, and promotions to business outcomes.
  • Partner with Media teams to align investment with performance goals.
  • Manage one direct report and one embedded team member.

Retail Marketing Execution

  • Build retail programs across retail media (search, display, onsite), digital shelf (PDP/content), and promotions and in-store activation.
  • Ensure programs are clearly linked to conversion and sales outcomes.
  • Coordinate execution across agency and internal teams, including budget planning and actualization.

Performance, Optimization & ROI

  • Monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Shift investment and tactics to improve results in real time.
  • Partner with analytics to connect media performance to business outcomes.
  • Deliver clear, actionable performance summaries to leadership.

Cross Functional & Agency Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day direction of WPP Unite and agency partners.
  • Provide clear briefs, feedback, and performance expectations.
  • Partner with Sales, Brand, and Media teams to align plans and priorities.
  • Share best practices, learnings, and playbooks across the organization.

Retailer Partnership & Platform Expertise

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Retailers and Retail Media Networks to unlock platform capabilities and performance opportunities.
  • Translate Retail specific shopper insights, signals, and tools into actionable strategies.

Reporting & Strategic Communication

  • Lead clear and concise performance reporting for brands and senior stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to post campaign learning agendas, ensuring insights are embedded into future briefs, planning, and investment decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail marketing strategy and planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage marketing and media performance end to end, from planning through optimization and reporting, within a complex cross functional ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical and performance optimization skills, with experience leveraging multiple data sources to inform real time decision making.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to lead agency partners, influence cross functional teams, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Target and/or Walmart channel experience, including a deep understanding of retail ecosystems, media networks, and digital shelf requirements to effectively drive conversion and sales growth.
  • Experience in managing teams through a proven track record in leadership and talent development to ensure cohesive execution and high-performance standards across retail programs.
  • Ability to anticipate trends in shopper behavior, retail media, and competitive dynamics.
  • Proactively bring forward new ideas, tests, and growth opportunities.
