Job Purpose: To develop and lead the Business Unit eCommerce strategy, driving sustainable growth, profitability, market share, and shopper engagement across all digital platforms, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Business Planning 1. Develop Channel vision, strategic priorities, and long-term plans to maximize growth opportunities of dCOM channels 2. Identify the differentiated and strategy role of each dCOM platform in driving Category’s job to be done and big bets 3. Translate channel vision into medium and long-term business plan. And drive deployment of these plans across function teams. 4. Identify and evaluate new dCommerce business models, partnerships, and channels. Commercial & P&L Management 1. To deliver revenue, profitability, and market share targets for the dCommerce channel. 2. Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for dCommerce sales and trade investment 3. Optimize spending and promotional investments to maximize ROI. 4. Lead profitability improvement roadmap, identify key levers to increase profitability and work with cross-function teams (with the support from finance) to drive implementation Customer & Platform Management 1. Build strategic partnerships with key dCommerce platforms (e.g. Shopee, TikTok Shop) at different management levels. 2. Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) negotiation with platforms to drive mutual growth. Strategically identify customers’ pain points and interest, also Unilever’s unique strengths in partnering with customers to solve these areas. 3. Bring external/customer voices into the heart of dCOM planning 4. Ensure execution excellence in assortment, pricing, content, and promotions. Team Leadership & Capability Development 1. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing dCommerce team including Key Account Managers, Affiliates and Self-live capability. Liaison closely with CSP (Customer strategy and planning) team to build forecast 2. Coach and mentor team members to enhance dCOM knowledge, skills, and execution capabilities. 3. Play an active role in connecting with Global/Regional team and also external experts to bring in key capability building programs for big BU teams, beyond his/her immediate team 4. Identify and implement new digital tools, technologies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and shopper experience. Shopper Experience & Conversion Optimization 1. Oversee online merchandising, digital content, and shopper engagement strategies to maximize conversion rates. 2. Lead initiatives to improve online availability, content accuracy, ratings & reviews, and last-mile delivery experiences. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Total dCOM sales value and growth vs. target • Market share in dCOM channel • Gross margin, PBO and trade spend ROI • Digital shelf metrics (availability, content accuracy, visibility) • Online conversion rate and shopper engagement • Successful execution of Joint Business Plans with platforms • Team capability and engagement scores Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is an advantage. • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in FMCG or Retail, with at least 3-5 years in senior dCommerce leadership roles. • Proven track record of developing and executing dCommerce strategies delivering strong commercial results. • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills. • Excellent understanding of dCommerce platforms, digital marketing, and shopper behavior. • Experiences from platforms such as Shopee, TTK is a plus. Experiences setting up dCOM units in FMCG is plus Competencies: • Strategic leadership & visioning • Commercial & financial acumen • Digital & eCommerce expertise • Team leadership & talent development • Influencing & stakeholder management • Data analysis & insights-driven decision making • Change management & innovation Team size and partnering: - Immediate 3 direct reports. This is expected to be a lean but highly efficient unit - Closely work with Customer strategy and planning team (considering a dotting-line if need be) - Lead contracted external agencies/service providers/expertise depending on strategic needs and demands - Work closely with cross function teams. - Close engagement, interaction with other department leads
