Background and Purpose of the Job

As the NA Inventory and Waste Manager, you will lead the inventory and business waste strategic pillar for North America. You will create the pillar strategy through engagement with different areas of supply chain, sales, and finance. You will partner with the Bus to drive (action plan), communicate progress (forecasting), create visibility (reporting), educate others on best practice, lead performance management, and drive continuous improvement efforts with your team across NA.

You will be responsible for strategy, target setting, forecasting, and performance management to achieve NA inventory & waste reduction targets using the following metrics, among others:
• Inventory (MATDI and ExitDI)
• Zero Based Inventory (ZBI)
• Business waste
• Stock norms (MEIO)
• Excess Stock
• SMOG

Who You Are

• You’re a dot connector: You will engage and work with the planning, quality, and logistics on-going to ensure strategic alignment towards achieving targets. Connectivity, and alignment with the POM role is critical to success.
• You’re a storyteller: You will lead and manage the inventory and waste strategic programs across the NA MCO. This will require effective and proactive project management, strategic influence, and leadership skills engaging key stakeholders within the framework to ensure visibility and drive action. You will provide the story behind the results on a monthly basis and present the results to senior leaders.
• You love to win and have fun doing it: You will deliver against key milestones and KPI’s including SC Planning targets for inventory and business waste across categories.
• You’re a changemaker: You will question the status quo and old ways of working by challenging the team to find ways to sustainably reduce inventory and waste.

What You Will Do
• Lead with a passion for building talent & teams. This includes recruiting the best talent, allowing them to grown & develop, providing feedback, challenging yourself and others to grow and providing recognition of hard work.
• Build a high performing team with strong communication skills, operational excellence, and drive for continuous improvement
• Operate with an understanding of how inventory & waste impacts the rest of the supply chain and encourage communication within and outside of your team
• Lead target setting process for NA inventory & waste and create strategy to achieve targets
• Implement forecasting process for NA inventory & waste across all categories and initiate visibility (reporting)
• Create robust performance management activities including reporting, loss trees, analysis & insights, and workstreams to drive structural actions


What You’ll Need To Succeed

Bachelor Degree in in Engineering, Logistics, Operations Planning, Supply Chain, or related fields. 7-10+ years’ work experience in supply chain with a clear competence in analytics and technology. Experience with Kinaxis & SAP ECC a plus. APICS a plus. Position requires excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, PBI, PowerPoint a plus. Good quantification and analytical skills in a dynamic environment requiring the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Ability to problem solve, influence, and lead others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $119,400 to $179,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that areutilizedin making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. 

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. 

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
