The Assistant Manufacturing Excellence (ManEx) Manager is a member of the Factory Leadership Team (FLT) of Ceytea Agarapathana and reports to the Factory Manager. He/she is responsible for leading the target setting process for Ceytea and implementing effective monitoring and review frameworks to ensure the factory meets its monthly and annual KPIs in the areas of Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale. Furthermore, he/she drives the continuous improvement activities in the manufacturing plant and assists the Manufacturing Manager to manage the general shift operations if required.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Lead the target setting and monitoring process for the factory to ensure the factory meets its monthly and annual KPIs.

  • Responsible for strategic planning and blueprinting of the Factory Masterplan.

  • Responsible for the formulation of the site digital plan and spearhead digital tool adoption and value creation.

  • Responsible for the site score of the Regional Sourcing Unit League table, should gather and share factory performance related data with the Regional Central ManEx team.

  • Lead the UMS (Unilever Manufacturing Processes) agenda of the site and drive pillar activities across the site through the UMS pillar leaders to ensure successful implementation of UMS process Electrical, Instrumentation and Process Engineers.

  • Lead the Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar of the factory.

  • Work with the Regional Central ManEx team to drive the Global/Regional ManEx agenda in the factory.

  • Ensure implementation of periodic audits, develop action plans for gaps identified in each pillar, drive corrective actions and review the progress.

  • Facilitate the development of individual pillars, sets benchmarks and tracks completion pillar goals, including participation in pillar meetings, team meetings and activities.

  • Develop pillar leaders, managers, supervisors and workforce team members through effective consultation, guidance, training programs, circle meetings, shop floor kaizen and problem-solving activities and recognition programs.

  • Lead and drive manufacturing team members for effective use of UMS tools (PMEWO, QEWO, SEWO, 5W1H, PPA etc.) and identification and elimination of losses to conduct improvements in the areas of PQCDSM.

  • Budget forecasting for UMS activities (UMS promotional activities, kaizen competitions, celebrations, local /overseas training and factory visits) in consultation with the factory manager. 

  • Responsible to deliver training programs on UMS basics and application of relevant tools based on the identified skill gaps of all the shop floor members, ensure upgrading of knowledge and skills on UMS and support for cultural change at the shop floor.

  • Develop the OEE loss tree and identify significant time losses that need to be addressed.

  • Hold weekly performance reviews encompassing the factory leadership team on the Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and SHE frontiers, along with the Factory Manager.

  • Take ownership of the factory ManEx savings target and work across different functions to identify and drive savings projects (both material and make savings).

  • Take ownership of the factory DOH target and work across different functions to ensure that the factory meets the monthly DOH target.

  • Act as General Shift Manager and assist Shift Managers in covering 24x7 operations as and when required.  Ensure to follow Unilever mandatory policies such as Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Travel safety, Code of business principles.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

Candidate should:

  • Be a graduate in Bachelor of Science (BSc) in any Engineering discipline.

  • Have 2-3 years management experience including minimum 1 year of manufacturing operations experience.

  • Have working knowledge on TPM/UMS/5S/TQM concepts

  • Possess working knowledge on process plant, packaging plants and central utilities.

  • Possess working knowledge of digital tools used in FMCG industry.

  • Have knowledge on requirements of the Factories Ordinance.

  • Have experience in the management of a skilled workforce
