Job Purpose

This places great demands on the skills and expertise of all of us as Procurement professionals.

Main Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage 3rd Party Manufacturer mainly focus on Personal care

  • Supplier sourcing strategy: engage with supplier who have the capability that can support business needs and support business resilience plan.

  • Supplier compliance: take care of supplier compliance status in term of responsible sourcing and quality assurance.

  • Establish new business partnership with supplier and corroborate with team to building supplier capability when needed.

  • Contract negotiation: closing the contract deal with supplier

  • Pricing analysis and negotiation: Compare, analyze and negotiate for competitive price that make sense for both business and supplier.

  • Spending forecast: input and summarize spending forecast data.

  • Saving project and cashflow: find the opportunity to bring saving and cash to business

  • Miscellaneous and others upon situation and request.

Procurement Strategies

  • Manage daily operation dealing, including delivery, price/cost& spending analysis, contract negotiation, policies, procedures compliance and buyer system, co-ordination and liaison support to other functions in the company.

  • Reviewing stakeholder’s requirement and process sourcing to optimize the value gained in term of pricing and value added services.

  • Sourcing, selecting and negotiate with supplier on pricing as well as the commercial term and ensure product/service purchased at optimum cost.

  • Engage with stakeholders to identify the most suitable supply solution for a given demand (e.g. E-tender, demand management, sourcing & supplier optimization, pitching and rate card)

  • Initiate and develop and implement sourcing strategies & execute, practices as well as improving purchasing service by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Implement supplier’s contract by working with cross-functional and negotiate with them to reach agreement on the contract term and conditions.

  • Assess and mitigate procurement and operational related risks

  • Solving issue regarding commercial and execution, find out the corrective solution.

  • Support Procurement Managers by providing timely and accurately assistance on relevant topics and initiatives as required

Projects

  • Support tactical and strategic sourcing projects as required.

  • Lead the implementation of the global strategies or new buyer system and create& implement cluster indirect category & commodity supplier management strategies.

  • Team representative involved in supply chain project or company project which relate to indirect procurement as required. (e.g. financial program, operation improvement, company system etc.)

Vendor management

  • Manage cluster suppliers base and global & regional contracts.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers and qualifying new supplier base.

  • Build and maintain supplier relationships and drive partnerships and collaboration at all levels.

  • Drive improvements and compliance of supplier management process.

  • Monitor and manage KPI achievement, savings contribution, smooth operation and benefit delivery as agreement.

Business engagement

  • Ensure the satisfaction of Unilever's internal customers with the Indirects Procurement goods or services provided by the suppliers within the portfolio.

  • Measure compliancy by business users to Procurement policies and contracts and take corrective actions as appropriate.

  • Team player to work collaboratively with related function including e-tender, project and savings.

Savings

  • Proactively identify and deliver Savings and/or Cash (via payment term extension) in line with set targets.

  • Closely working and align with Finance team to contribute the cost savings which entirely impact P&L.

  • Identify and propose cost reduction/continuous performance improvement (supplier) opportunities.

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

  • University degree in related field.

  • Good buying, negotiation and contracting skills

  • Strategic sourcing

  • Supply market and FMCG knowledge

  • Experience on large-scale project management roles

  • Expertise in sustainability, circular economy and processing technologies

Skill

  • Outstanding in idea generation, ideas that are forward thinking, and that contribute to creating sustained competitive advantage.

  • Strong at selling ideas to his/her business partners, internally and externally, translating these into effective proposals conveying value and communicating it accordingly.

  • Appreciative of the value and impact of outstanding execution – an eagle eye for detail.

  • Act as an entrepreneur, treats business as his/her own, sets trends and is willing to lead, follow or get out of the way.

  • Behave as a Partner to Win ambassador and demonstrate the value Procurement adds to the business.
