Job Title: People Development Supervisor

Location: Thailand

Job Purpose 

People Development (PD) Supervisor will coordinate and deliver course training for Entry Level and Developing technical operators, and technician apprentices in accordance with Unilever curriculum requirements. They will liaise with other training providers where it is advantageous to use their capabilities.

Within the factory, PD Supervisor will continue to support the development and progression of trained technicians and technical operators through the skills audit and the HR for Factories integrated training system. Operational training interventions will be varied, but often involve legislative safety and hazard awareness training, or training to eradicate waste and loss.

Additionally, PD Supervisor will provide advice and measuring for the recruitment of technical skills to the sourcing unit.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs (Leadership, Hard Skills, Soft Skills) in line with Plant’s Master Plan, through job analysis and regular consultation with PD Lead & Plant leaders.

  • Coordinate with topic Subject Matter Experts to resolve any areas needing refinement from training development and coordinate on training materials.

  • Create and manage training calendar and coordinate for any training aids, materials, or facilities.

  • Create and manage training databases for competency checks, skill evaluations and training hours conducted.

  • Develops training curriculum by going through all materials, exercises and checklists that currently exist, updating and modifying where needed, and creating new materials where appropriate.

  • Develops instruction, including:

  • Conduct Job Mapping sessions and create the resulting Job Maps

  • Create competency checks including both Skill Checks and Knowledge Checks

  • Create orientation materials

  • Design & execute a quality assurance process that includes reviewing Learning Guides, creating assessments and providing feedback to the author

  • Established the desired format and delivery of training; use trainee feedback to standardize or improve on training practices.

  • Create testing & evaluation processes, where needed, as determined by the curriculum and embarking on continuous improvement through regular technical assessments of employee skills and gap analysis to ensure employees’ technical skills meet factory priorities and support the eradication of losses & Human Errors.

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development or related role, with experience in skills gap analysis, design and manage training curriculum.

  • Good business acumen, able to design relevant and impactful learning programs based on business priorities, challenges &  needs.

  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple programs

  • Excellent communication, presentation & facilitation skills

  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Training experience in multinational companies and/or factory is preferrable.

  • Good level of English communication

  • Computer literacy; familiar with MS Office, SAP
