ABOUT SUNSILK

Sunsilk is the largest billion-euro Hair Care brand for Unilever, housed under Beauty and Wellbeing division. As a cornerstone brand for hair category, the agenda on Sunsilk is to drive growth and reassert our leadership as a true hair care brand. Sunsilk, while a global brand, behaves extremely local with sizeable footprints in LATAM, SEA&I, SA and Middle east/Turkey. In these markets our ambition is to build strong brand experiences that drive growth and brand power. 

Sunsilk is the largest B&W brand in SEA+I (€356Mn), a profitable growth accelerator and bedrock of the portfolio expansion: consistently growing faster than UL portfolio in the last years and above market with strong bottom line. SEA&I is a citadel for Sunsilk, being the second biggest region for the brand and market leader #1 brand, with healthy Brand Power in all markets. Sunsilk is the cornerstone brand in SEA&I, being present in reaching 5/10 households across the region. ABOUT TRESEMMÉ


TRESemmé was born in the salon and is housed under the Beauty and Wellbeing division. It is one of our power brands for the hair category, with a strong foothold in the US market but also a huge opportunity for growth in our World at Large markets (outside of North America).  TRESemme is admired across the globe for its Salon-Worthy Products and Style-First Approach. It strives to bring that salon feel to everyone, everyday. 

TRESemmé SEA+I has been designed as the brand to win the Channels of the Future. It is the #1 ecomm and H&B brand in TH/VN, the first brand to develop AI led modular content and execute it successfully in UL, the pioneer of social first content model in TH and ready to push the salon credentials further with upcoming launches. Our ambition is to be the #1 brand in COTF for SEA+I as the leading premium salon tech brand.

ABOUT THE ROLE


This is an extremely strategic and key role that will lead SEA + I business strategy for Sunsilk + TRES, Global innovation projects & create a consistent multi-year activity plan for key SEA&I markets. This position offers a great opportunity to demonstrate independent leadership and clearly ownable deliverables.   We’re looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running, demonstrate high levels of responsibility, ownership, an immense bias for actions and desire to develop within the exciting and demanding world of hair care. A very good eye for beauty & aesthetic is a must. 

He/She will be a part of the Global brand team and collaborate effectively with other Global brand teams in London/India, BU leaders in key countries, Cross functional teams (R&D, CMI, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.), agencies, external partners to ensure the brand innovation funnel are landed with impactful social first, culture led engagement in markets that delight consumers, capturing market trends to deliver the brand growth ambition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for docking SEA&I markets to deliver competitive growth, specifically in charge of driving the strategic growth agenda for the respective countries in collaboration and with BU and Innovation team. 

  • Transform Sunsilk into a social first, culture and community-based Haircare brand to drive brand awareness, relevance and conversion.  This includes leading the brand’s data-driven marketing, social media and media strategy planning and execution, partnership leadership, CXX and ECommerce engagement.

  • Make TRESemme the lead salon tech brand to win in Channels of the Future, with the execution of pioneering innovations, tech solutions, and social first strategy to win with the digitally native consumer.

  • Leading the understanding and analysis of global trends and key competitive moment to develop Global Core+ project innovation design and landing them in a well-developed innovation pipeline for the brand. Lead on-trend innovations with break-through science, build beauty mixes that drive desirability.

  • Lead strategic thinking and design development of the global Core & Core+ innovation toolbox with strong execution E2E across markets. 

  • Champion brand’s execution that builds strong brand power in lead markets.

ALL ABOUT YOU

We need someone who:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.

  • Has at least 10 years’ experience with brand development / brand building with a strong passion for Beauty or Personal Care with eye for detail, beauty and craftsmanship. Relevant experience in strategy and mix crafting, preferably for beauty brands – across hair/ skin and makeup.

  • ‘Monica Geller’ level obsession for all-things-design, aesthetics and beauty to drive premium, high-quality mix execution across touchpoints.

  • Consumer obsessed to represent their voice on the table of brand discussions; able to bring the diversity of consumers across the east and the west without tinting the filter with biases.  

  • Has a challenger mindset to challenge the established norms of beauty mix crafting as currently understood in Unilever.

  • Must be comfortable with using data throughout aspects of the role, balanced with a keen interest in social/culture conversations to build innovations that have timeless insights and social by design executions.

  • Experience / knowledge of working in a Global role. Has experience in managing cross-cultural relationships with multiple markets 

  • Has experience in effectively managing the relationship with multiple functional teams and within the brand

  • Strong sense of ownership with ability to lead & manage quality & deadline of workstream on your own. 

  • Has strong communication skills, can articulate a clear point of view, and share it with key internal and external stakeholders across functions  

  • Is a problem-solver: someone who can identify and clearly articulate an issue and propose solutions 

  • Is curious and has empathy: someone who asks the right questions, is externally focused and obsessed with trying to understand consumers better.  

  • Consumer-centric & alert with new market/consumer trends 

  • Is a creative thinker, able to express good judgement, keeping brand and consumer insights in mind. 

  • Shows leadership and is reliable: holds the team accountable for deliveries and keeps things moving with speed without letting any ball drop 

  • Has strong analytical skills and a good business acumen 

  • Is a natural team player with strong collaboration skills
