Background:

Unilever International (UI) is an alternative but complimentary route to market, servicing white space opportunities not exploited by local operating countries.  It is a global business unit with 9 hubs (Singapore, US, UK, Korea, India, Dubai, France, Philippines and Australia) with a diverse range of products, with expertise in utilizing 3rd party distributors and consolidators to reach consumers in over 75 countries.

UI have been operating successfully as an alternate RtM to complement MCOs to serve these white spaces through a network of 500+ market expansion service providers and specialists via seeding initiatives. The market expansion providers or distributors in countries provide brand building and customer development services to UI under the agreed operating frameworks using the brand toolkits provided. UI have strategically evolved its portfolio from availability led growth to seeding in the last 5 years.

Job Purpose:

UI SCF Manager will play a true pivot role in the UI SC and UI Finance organization. The incumbent plays a key role in E2E SC cost Controller, being involved in the day to day accounting and reporting of the materials/non material SC costs. The job provides a great opportunity to work with a large range of stakeholders in UI organization such as SC team, Procurement team, Business team, UI controller team, SCFS, audit and the CG team.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • SCF FET and Controllership: He/she will be lead the MEC process of SC costs and explain GMVA to finance head/VP SC. This role owns e2e SC costs accounting and controls including inventory stock taking annually for compliance. The role requires understanding of the accounting treatments for all of the SC costs. The role also is responsible for consistent score card publish for SC on inventory/business waste, Savings and other financial KPI’s. The role needs to also work with BU FBP’s to provide guidance on the FC process based on the understanding of Material/logistics cost global trends as provided by Procurement

  • PPV analysis and accounting: He/she will be responsible to analyse purchase price variance (including any claims from 3PM/SU) in the materials cost line for both the CM’s and SU’s to ensure they are rightly captured for accounting and reporting purposes

  • TP review and maintenance: Maintain TP’s for both existing and new innovations and holding strong governance with CG, MDM, marketing, SC and Procurement team’s

  • SC finance and Digital capabilities: Leads the development of new capabilities (Automation/ Centralization/ Elimination) and analytics giving the SC finance team to tools to operate with a higher level of effectiveness.

  • Finance agenda & people development: Lead and drive learning agenda within SCF, ensures that the finance teams are motivated, energized and upskilled to be a highly effective finance team.

Candidate:

Essential Experience:

  • >7 years of experience in various Finance roles (Supply Chain, Performance Management, Procurement, Financial Analytics will be preferable)

  • In depth knowledge of Operational / Financial Processes: Master data management, Costing & Transfer pricing principles, Financial Accounting

  • In depth knowledge of I-finance, MEC timelines and GFCF controls (esp Make to deliver controls)

  • Strong Analytical capabilities with bias to Drive Action.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, SAP and BW operational Knowledge

  • Knowledge on reporting tools, eg: Power BI will be advantage.
