JOB PURPOSE

The Head of Finance for North America Home Care is a key member of the SVG Leadership team, the North America Finance Leadership team and the Global Home Care Finance Leadership Team.  This role is the key finance partner to the CEO Seventh Generation/General manager North America Home Care in all aspects of performance management, stewardship, long term strategic planning, business integration and operations, and the allocation of resources across the two business entities. In addition, the role will lead finance team for The Laundress, overseeing accounting and reporting, financial controls and business partnering. 

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

This person effectively acts as the operational CFO of the business unit, playing a key role on the leadership team.   Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Home Care North America leadership team to develop near and long-term strategy building the holistic roadmap for delivery.
  • Driving and shaping business performance with full accountability for delivery against P&L and Cash targets. To include performance analysis and dynamic interventions for delivery of in-year financial targets for the North America Home Care business. 
  • Driving ROI on all forms of Marketing, Trade and Capex investment
  • Driving the Pricing and Trade spend management agenda, bringing and leveraging Net Revenue Management best practices and resources.
  • Deliver the Digital Transformation agenda for Finance (incl. automation where possible and implementation of new I&A tools)
  • Specifically for The Laundress, work with Unilever Controllers team (North America and/or GCAD) on implementation of AFCF, and ensuring accurate and appropriate reporting
  • Set hurdle rates and work with team to build compelling innovation business cases at key decision gates including driving post-launch evaluations and retrospectives
  • Partner with the Global Business Group stakeholders to set target expectations (near and long term) based on FGM alignment.
  • Own the end-to-end Overheads budget process, including tracking, monitoring and intervening to deliver improved business performance
  • Leadership in net Productivity initiatives and organizational process redesign where relevant
  • Finance representative on SVG Social mission board; providing business strategy and performance updates when needed.
  • Working in collaboration with the SVG Corporate Consciousness team to manage commitments to Foundation, as well as how to optimize those investments for impact in addressing climate and other mission-oriented issues while continually improving business growth.
  • Provide leadership and development for the finance team, plus act as a visible leader for the entire Finance function.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with professional qualification (CA/ACMA/MBA or equivalent) a plus. 
  • At least 10+ years’ experience with substantial leadership experience including a financial leadership position with P&L responsibility
  • Passion for finding creative solutions to ensure efficient ways of working.  Will have shown ability to succeed in diverse, fast paced work environments – ideally have experience with an Agile organization, deploying the Agile methodology of working.
  • Deep commitment to building talent and teams in an environment of diversity, inclusion and psychological safety
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills for working successfully within a dynamic business
  • Strong business partnering credentials with a proven track record of successful financial results management
  • Acquired business integration experience a major plus
  • Solid understanding of different areas of Finance (controllership advantageous)

Pay: The pay range for this position is $210,600 to $421,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
