The factory Quality Leader focuses on implementing, executing, improving and providing technical quality support to manufacturing, engineering, technical innovation management teams, Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, incident management, quality risk management and digital agenda.
Decision making directly impacts innovation success, consumer safety and quality of UL products in the factory, impacting UL reputation and brand equity.
On the side of Innovation, he/she is responsible for implementing innovation projects within the factory being the key interface between the R&D, where the products and packaging are designed and developed, and the Supply Chain, where they are manufactured and delivered to the customers.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Quality
• Drive the Factory Quality Masterplan and Lead the factory to meet the Quality KPIs
• Supports UL Quality strategy, governance and goals through Factory specific projects and targets
• Supports that core technology equipment implementation, process changes and specifications meet local regulatory requirements and product quality needs
• Provides Quality expertise, leading prevention and resolution of quality issues within factory team, MSO and R&D.
• Supports ensuring Quality processes (to maintain consumer safety and product quality) are applied for all changes linked to innovation and other aspects (5S, supplier, product sourcing strategy, etc.)
• Ensure that manufacturing sites can meet UL Quality standards by conducting technical capability assessments, intensive care and non-conformance monitoring and providing quality support for issue prevention and resolution.
• Supports building Quality culture (coaching, training) within the Factory community
• Lead Quality Audit Agenda with internal and external partners
Innovation
• Leading projects from start (industrialization evaluation) to finish (finished good production), including working with other teams within the organization or external suppliers to ensure objectives are met.
• Collaborating with other departments, mainly FLT, P&I, Engineering, Quality, R&D, Operations and Planning to facilitate the implementation of new formulations or packings.
• Leading project risk assessment to anticipate any risks on Quality, Safety, Line Performance and product/production cost or Investments
• Driving the site team to the project delivery accordingly to the network timelines
• Coordinatinating MPT (Main Plant Trial) or Packing line trials ensuring the outcome is always matching the Unilever Quality standards.
• Presenting trial results to the relevant project stakeholders.
• Creating a culture of innovation within the company by promoting ideas to simplify and optimize the project implementation phase.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
• University degree in general sciences or technical discipline (preferred: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science or Microbiology degree)
• Appropriate functional business experience in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain or R&D with proven track record of connecting and delivering in multi-functional forums, project management, business process improvement and team leadership
• Proven and recognized achievements in risk and change management
• Depth of experience within Home Care
Skills
• Well-organized, precise, and able to multitask with excellent prioritizing and time management skills
• Analytic skill
• Able to coordinate/lead a project/trial autonomously
• Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills and attention to details, data driven (use data to support recommendation)
• Resilience in working under pressure
• Having a strategic thinking and business acumen approach
• Ability to work on systems (SAP and similar)
• Fluent in English and Italian mother tongue.
