Job Title: Data Engineer (Manufacturing)
Location: Thailand

Job Purpose

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support the factory’s digital transformation initiatives. This role focuses on enabling seamless integration between shopfloor equipment, sensors, and control systems with the Azure cloud environment. By ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable data flow, the Data Engineer will empower real-time data collection, monitoring, and advanced analytics to drive operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the factory’s network architecture, ensuring reliable connectivity between production equipment, local servers, and Azure cloud services.

  • Implement network segmentation, firewalls, and security best practices to safeguard both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) environments.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, availability, and security incidents.

  • Design, develop, and deploy IoT solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.

  • Ensure interoperability across various industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus).

  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and automation engineers to enable effective data acquisition.

Candidate Criteria

Skill & Qualification

  • Proficiency in network design, VLANs, routing and firewalls.

  • Knowledge of network security frameworks and best practices.

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.

  • Basic programming/scripting skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to make logical decisions based on data.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Automation, Information System, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, industrial automation or IoT systems

  • Experience in integrating OT devices with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure).

  • Hand-on experience in manufacturing processes and technologies is highly preferred.
