Job Purpose

With the UMS (Unilever Manufacturing System), Unilever’s continuous improvement methodology, the Manufacturing Excellence (ManEx) Support Manager is responsible for delivering the effective implementation, improving and analysis site performance e.g., production loss, waste, net productivity, OEE, cost efficiency, and reliability.

ManEx Support Manager also inculcates the UMS philosophy, embraces digital & data-driven solutions, and leads colleagues and shopfloor employees to apply a continuous improvement mindset.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for governance setup and overall UMS Coordination in factories and each pillar's progress with site leadership team and BU ManEx Lead
  • Implement the UMS Establishment, workshop, lead the assessment, and resolve rollout roadblock and drive results with change management and cultural change
  • Develop, enroll and manage the successions Factory Masterplan with relevant teams to drive business improvements
  • Manage and improve the continuous improvement culture to drive the UMS within the organization, using data analytics and statistical tools
  • Train the production problems solving method, Kaizen, and using improvement tools and techniques to prevent recurrence
  • Analysis, identify, prioritize production losses, and guide production teams their gap and improvement area in processes and loss management Expand zero loss concept and loss management framework beyond Manufacturing
  • Apply Cost Deployment and co-lead Cost governance along with related team, developing the cost budget and control costs
  • Consolidate all savings projects through FI activities, transformation, and Kaizens from the operations teams and help identify projects to meet the targeted production cost and manufacturing waste
  • Support digital driven factory program, data reporting systems, plant operation system efficiency and audit effectiveness

Candidate Criteria

Skill & Qualification

  • Solid achievements and solid background in continuous improvement program (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma/TPM/TQM/WCM/UMS)
  • Sharp analytical skill and logical decision based on data
  • Structured thinking to work and convince cross-function stakeholders to drive the UMS based culture
  • Strong leadership and influencing skill
  • Able to command of both written and spoken in English
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficiencies in Power BI and project management tools
  • Energetic, working under dynamic environment and good interpersonal skills
  • Able to clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standards
  • Passionate about advanced data analytics and statistical tools

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, Engineering Management or equivalent, Master’s degree is a plus
  • 5 - 8 years of professional experience in manufacturing, leading/implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Experienced in leading continuous improvement such as Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or other related programs
  • Experience as a leader of Project Management team in manufacturing is a plus
  • Hand on experience in FMCGs manufacturing process and technology
  • Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures of FMCG
