Background and Purpose of the Job:

The Maintenance Lead role is critical to the development of our factories to World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses. This role will be responsible for several key business metrics of the department (such as breakdowns, RCAs, repairs, and maintenance costs) and managing the department to ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.

The Maintenance Lead will lead and develop a team of technicians across five operation shifts.

This role also has responsibility of the maintenance execution; corrective and preventative maintenance functions to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost.

You’re a strategy guru: You act and think not only from a maintenance point of view but from a business view to maximize the value that the site brings to the business. You establish and execute medium and long-term strategies, goals, and improvements at the manufacturing site that improve performance and reduce costs. By providing consistent and near real time information, decisions can be taken quickly which leverage our resources.

World Class Manufacturing (WCM). Apply the full set of WCM methods and tools to identify root causes, define countermeasures and validate their effectiveness; Establish standards to support line operators and mechanics sustain new basic conditions.

Process and Organizational Design. Leverage technical knowledge and a systems approach to ensure factory lines and processes are optimally resourced (e.g. manpower ratios are efficient and sustainable).

Analytical capability. Collect and analyze complex data to penetrate problems’ phenomena and understand root causes.

Key Deliverables:

· Managing manufacturing activities by leading and motivating maintenance employees in all

areas including safety, efficiency, loss management, quality, and continuous improvement (UMS). 

· Meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction regarding safety procedures, and supporting plant SHE and Q initiatives as required (GMP, Hygiene, 5S, etc.).

· Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. This requires contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage.

· Driving breakdown reduction using a robust root cause analysis process utilizing the UMS methodology.

· Monitoring general performance and behavior of maintenance employees and adjusting crewing or calling in replacements, as necessary.

· Managing weekly records of hours worked, along with explanation of overtime hours worked and ensures hours worked, vacation, personal hours, absences, etc. are correctly documented so employees are paid accurately. 

· Participating in the development of the annual site manufacturing and R&M budgets and controlling fixed and variable cost expenditures.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

· Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing technical discipline (Maintenance or Engineering)

· Fully understand and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

· Must be able to effectively manage conflict while creating an inclusive work environment.

· Full understanding of the OHSA and pertinent safety regulations.

· Experience with manufacturing equipment, concepts, and regulations.

· Leadership experience in continuous improvement (WCM, TPM, Lean Manufacturing)

· Strong troubleshooting skills

· Champion for Change Management

Preferred/:

· Experience in automation and controls- Allen Bradley

· Experience in statistics and process control tools.

· Experience in AM, PM, Quality and FI tools and processes.

· Confident in applying problem solving tools (5W1H, 4M, 5WHY etc.)



Pay: The pay range for this position is $ 84,400 to $126,600 . Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
