WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
The SHE Engineer is a core member of our team and is responsible for facilitating the Safety, Health and Environmental strategy of the factory. Apart from ensuring compliance with all relevant Unilever, Federal, State and Local SHE policies and standards, the SHE Engineer is in charge of creating and implementing projects that help the site to achieve its goal of zero injuries.
Role expectations:
- Design and lead projects that offer innovative/creative/digital solutions which move the site closer to its vision of zero injuries.
- Managing and eliminating SHE operational risks and hazards to ensure an accident/ hazard free/echo friendly cost competitive operation.
- Use data to reduce environmental footprint and increase sustainability. Support site activities to assure at-risk-behaviors and at-risk conditions are addressed.
- Drive the Continuous Improvement agenda using lean manufacturing and engineering principles as the operating framework.
- Coordinate investigations of incidents and workplace injuries Provide operational safety and environmental performance feedback on a regular basis.
- Support the SHE pillars and associated sub-committees.
- Support the SHE Unilever framework for site and employee safety teams.
- Provide support, instruction and training to Line Managers/Supervisors in regard to SHE framework initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental or PSM preferred
- B.S./B.A. in safety and/or environmental science, chemical/industrial/mechanical engineering and/or other related technical discipline
Skills
- Clear communicator;
- Ability to lead and implement projects up to $1 million
- Problem solving skills, creative thinking, and good understanding of root cause analysis
- Natural curiosity and grit – you love a challenge and will not give up when things get hard
- “No task too small” attitude and willing to help the team get the job done

Pay: The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $102,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
