Within the Beauty & Wellbeing Business Group - PH B&W R&D is committed to driving outstanding innovation and improvement programs, sitting in the Greater Asia B&W Business Unit. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:
SCOPE
- Hair/ Skin Packaging Deployment – Executing technical solutions and recommendations especially on packaging & processing to deploy innovation and optimization projects in the Philippines
- Factory facing support – Processing & Packaging - Support factory quality and efficiency programmes via local packaging and processing initiatives local in the Philippines
- Fuel for growth – Identify savings opportunities especially on packaging through production data analysis and competitor monitoring/ assessments
- Champions Digital & Data processes and systems in the team
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
HAIR/ SKIN Packaging Workstream Lead
- Support the R&D Technical project leads by delivering the packaging workstream activites on-time in full
- Works with Global and Regional Packaging on landing new packaging technology.
- Packaging Deployment for global brands: Develops shelf ready packs, secondary packaging and NRM packs for customer requirements
- Right cost Packaging Design: Monitor and control packaging costs to meet 5S targets without compromising on key consumer quality standard
- Factory Deployment: Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of new packaging solutions in production environments.
FACTORY FACING SUPPORT – PACKAGING & PROCESSING
- Support packaging and raw material resiliency, optimization and sustainability programs packaging technical programmes for alternative material sourcing, optimizing the existing pack portfolio,
- Support factory optimization programmes especially around improving capacity through batch cycle time, waste and efficiency programmes, supporting quality RCA for quality issues
- Provide technical guidance to laboratory assistants for day-to-day activities
FUEL FOR GROWTH
- Supports Gross Margin improvement agenda through packaging & processing optimization projects in our factories
OTHER DELIVERABLES
- Champions Digital & Data in the team: Able to organize structured data capture, databases and use data analysis, visualization & digital tools for decision making and problem solving
- Able to validate and deploy new packaging and processing specifications in the factory with rigorous functional testing and comprehensive risk assessment
- Able to clearly understand operating principles and establish technical standards and specifications on packaging and processing
- Able to discuss with Engineering and Production people about packaging, processing, filling and mixing machine interface to find solutions
- Able to assess & mitigate risks relevant to Production & Quality for mixing/ filling
- Able to communicate and present technical challenges/ data clearly to cross
Experiences & Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in chemistry/ engineering background or equivalent experience
- With minimum of 2 - 4 years in product development/ packaging /processing design or any similar R&D workstreams with technical specifications management
- With experience in product development/ packaging and/or processing validation in factories with various mixing and filling specifications
Preferred experience:
- Experiences in product development
- Experiences on packaging development - especially flexibles and rigids
- Experiences on processing development – especially with personal care and beauty product liquids/ emulsions
- Experiences in design and digital environment/ tools is highly desirable.
- Exposure to Beauty and/or Personal Care is an advantage
- Exposure to global & regional work experience is an advantage
- With experience in project leadership, risk management and stakeholder engagement. Effective in managing external partners and working with virtual project teams
Skills
- Data management, visualization and analysis skill, and business process management is required
- Dynamic and agile in leadership skills – able to manage virtual and present teams, able to influence and manage stakeholders, with problem solving and strategy building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to synthesize data and present appropriately. English proficiency is a must
- Time management, Risk management and project management training is an advantage
