Role Title: Unilever International (UI) - Assistant Business Development Manager

Scope:PH Exports

Location:Philippines

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will execute end to end management of various business initiatives in PH:

The purpose of the role is to

  • Liaise with existing Customers ( Local consolidator/ Distributors) for Filipino Local Jewels in key diaspora markets
  • Sales deal management
  • Planning, monitor activities plans, evaluating execution results in key strategic markets (TW,HK, SG).
  • Lead and execute all E2E Internal administrative UI processes including Marketing, SC, Operations and Finance Identify key whitespace growth opportunities specific to key diaspora markets through data/ market scan/ insight activation/ RTM enhancements

Main Accountabilities:

Customer Management

  • Develop and then implements the optimal integrated promo plan (incl. selling the plan @ the customer) and manage promo investments.
  • Works with customer to ensure cadence on order book adherent to order-lead times to ensure sufficient stockweights & on time execution of programs as per plan.
  • Conducts monthly operational meetings and business reviews with Top 5 key customers to gain more insights, monitor performance and to be able to flexibly pivot plans, if needed.
  • Manages customer promo investment ensuring all budgets are accrued, spent within budget and claimed in a timely manner
  • Tracking, managing and evaluating key business metrics and KPIs across trade activities & Service levels

Manage Internal UI Processes

  • Works closely with operating country to have early visibility on innovations and product launches/ transitions and to plan accordingly.
  • Updates and reviews forecast monthly to help ensure healthy service levels.
  • Works with other BDMs in destination markets to drive execution as per plan.
  • P&L management which includes managing trade spends, quarterly price reviews and adherence to floor price.
  • Monitors implementation and adherence to UI Processes internally across functions and externally with the distributors
  • Works closely with cross-functional business partners – Supply chain, sales operations & finance to ensure process is in place
  • Communication: Shares actual performance of Business with the Internal Business Partners.

Business Development Projects Management:

  • Lead the Operationalization of the agreed initiatives
  • Ensure timely delivery as per project timeline.
  • Provide clear network update – on actual vs planned.
  • Lead coordination meetings of the Multi-Functional team for customer specific projects
  • Organize project meetings, prepare minutes and follow up actions. Escalate if critical milestones are likely to be missed.

Relevant Experience:

  • Ability to manage multiple customers in different markets and develop remote management skills
  • Ability to travel in the cluster up to 10% of time
  • Finance business partnering skills
  • Ability to seize the big picture , deep dive into details when necessary and propose business solutions
  • Highly agile, flexible and adaptable to changes, when necessary
  • Highly entrepreneurial in nature
  • Team player who is able to manage cross functional teams
  • Self confident integrity is a must, as the difficulties of the job will test incumbents regularly on their values and they will be often carrying difficult messages to their business partners and key customers.
  • 3+ years of business experience in customer management ( not necessarily from Exports background)
