JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a WL2 for the Personal Care Business Unit in Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support to the Personal Care BU (end 2 end), ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and managing legal risks.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Preparation
Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, legal marketing, sales, among other overseeing the whole operation E2@E .
Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with the business operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Monitor changes to law and promptly inform all relevant Teams of the changes and provide suggestions on how to meet any change in the legal requirements
Participate in the negotiation, drafting/review and approval of all material contracts.
Ensure that all key Unilever contracts are legally compliant and Unilever interests are adequately safeguarded.
Be actively involved in potential litigation
Manage legal implications of consumer complaints
Maintain good relationships with central and local government authorities and agencies that are relevant business interests, and which are within the remit of the legal department.
Experiences & Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the personal care industry.
Strong knowledge in legal marketing, sponsorship contracts, influencer contract, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Competition Law.
Skills
Good understanding and working knowledge of corporate law, competition law, intellectual property law, Mexico´s laws and regulations, company secretary experience and related disciplines.
Ability to co-ordinate transactional work.
Good team player having ability to work as a business Partner within legal and with other sub-regional and regional lawyers.
