ABOUT UNILEVER

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world. You will work on brands that are loved and improve the lives of our consumers and the communities around us. You will lead innovations, big and small, that will make our business win and grow. You will learn from brilliant business leaders and colleagues who provide mentorship and inspiration so that you can become a better you.

JOB PURPOSE

At Unilever, our commitment to “Value with Values” requires ongoing efforts to embed a culture of integrity across our entire operational footprint. This implies significant efforts to prevent, detect, and if necessary, investigate potential concerns relating to our Code of Business Principles and Code Policies (the Code), and to hold individuals accountable where appropriate. Unilever sets similarly high standards in selecting suppliers and business partners.

The Business Integrity Officer for Acquired Businesses (“BIO”) is the BI leader for all the Acquired Businesses. Unilever's "Acquired Businesses" are companies or brands that Unilever has purchased to enhance its market position and expand its operations. Examples of these businesses include Dermalogica, REN, Nutrafol, Yasso, K18, Paula’s Choice, Tatcha, Olly and many others. These businesses must adopt Unilever's Code of Business Principles and Business Integrity/Third Party Framework to align with Unilever's governance standards and ethical practices. The integration process varies, with some businesses fully integrated into Unilever's systems, while others maintain their unique brand identity.

As a compliance leader for acquired businesses, you will ensure these entities adhere to Unilever's ethical standards, identify and mitigate risks, and support leaders in implementing compliance frameworks. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and reputation of Unilever's expanding portfolio.

The BIO supports global and Business Unit leaders, as owners of Code and business integrity risks inherent in their operations, to identify and mitigate these by reference to the Code and the tools that govern relations between Unilever and third parties. They manage the Business Integrity Committees of the Acquired Businesses and collaborate with the relevant BIO of the Business Group involved, ensuring robust oversight and governance for such matters, and are a respected and visible Go-To person for the escalation of BI-related.

The BIO must demonstrate the values, skills, judgment, drive, and influence needed to deploy Unilever’s Business Integrity framework, liaising with subject matter experts (SMEs), for optimal results consistent with the Unilever global Roadmap for Business Integrity. Due to the seniority and expertise of the BIO, there is an expectation to also lead and collaborate in the continuous enhancement of the different elements of the Business Integrity Framework, to lead investigations from time to time, and to represent the function in other geographies as required.

The BIO is an important member of the global BI function and Beauty & Wellbeing legal teams.
