Pay Range: $21.50 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible - $2.00 shift night differential – 12 hr night shift 2/2/3

The Storeroom Technician position supports the entire maintenance team. This position coordinates all activities within the storeroom and controls the $7.5 million in parts inventory. This position is responsible for ensuring completion of all tasks in their assigned area, making sure the supervisor is aware if there are any gaps. The position creates plans to address issues, ensures the correct resources are being applied to each problem and escalates to the supervisor when additional help is needed. 

The Magnum Ice Cream Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross functional teams in the safe and quality delivery of finished goods across the shift they are leading. Making brands such as Klondike, Popsicle, Breyers, and Good Humor ice cream.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuously strive to increase the efficiency and reliability of the storeroom 
  • Monitor the consumed parts daily and place orders for replenishment 
  • Monitor order required quantities in Megamation 
  • Reach out to vendors for quotes for parts 
  • Correctly enter parts in Coupa for order, track, receive and put away parts daily 
  • Process and put away return parts 
  • Clean up of store room areas daily 
  • Coordinates and executes cycle counts for parts on a weekly basis 
  • Ensures Megamation inventory accurately reflects current storeroom inventory 
  • Works with the finance team to reconcile any month end differences in parts room consumption and the reflecting inventory in SAP 
  • Generates other inventory reports as requested 
  • Identifies and quarantines obsolete parts in the storeroom for write off and removal 
  • Identifies duplicate parts and consolidates parts 
  • Suggests improvements we can make to the storeroom environment that make it more user friendly, easier to control and more organized 
  • Work with maintenance planners and vendors to identify alternative sources for parts that allow for any of the following: 
  • Shorter lead time 
  • Better part quality 
  • Lower part cost 
  • Ability to carry lower/zero stock due to immediate availability from other sources 
  • Coordinate and lead an annual inventory count of the entire storeroom 
  • Helps to ensure parts are leaving the storeroom on a work order to maintain inventory accuracy 
  • Escalate issues of work order non-compliance to the supervisor 
  • Ensures equipment is properly input into Megamation for all equipment and that parts are correctly assigned to machines 
  • Ensures Megamation work orders are being completed, shares this information with the mechanics on a weekly basis and reports issues with compliance to the supervisor. Periodic audits of the work order process. 
  • Carries out periodic audits to ensure the work order process is being followed and reports to supervisor 
  • Carries out periodic audits to ensure depth of work order material is adequate and reports to supervisor 
  • Work with the maintenance supervisors and maintenance planners to ensure the correct parts and qty of parts are being stocked for each machine 
  • Develop short- and medium-term plans for equipment maintenance with the maintenance planner and operations team. Works with the supervisor to develop longer term goals. 
  • Working with the maintenance team to improve operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, and coordination of labor, parts, material, tools and equipment access 
  • Contacting vendors and manufacturers as needed for quotes, information and support in resolving issues 
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of reliability centered maintenance strategies 
  • Assists in ordering parts for longer term work orders/planned maintenance as required 
  • Pulling, kitting and storing parts to be used in future work orders

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Previous storeroom experience is preferred.
  • Must be computer literate.  
  • Fluent with computers (SAP, Megamation, Coupa, Office Suite) 
  • Must be self-motivated 
  • Able to facilitate discussions and communicate clearly across all levels
  • Can read, write, and present procedures, summaries, and visual data effectively
  • Comfortable with basic math, statistics, and interpreting graphs
  • Uses problem-solving and improvement tools to analyze data and identify trends

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and risk of burns.  There will be occasional exposure to toxic chemicals and high noise levels. 

In addition, there will be exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean and cinnamon. There will also be exposure to chemicals and gasses such as ammonia.
