JOB PURPOSE
Are you passionate, driven and creative? Are you eager to work on a world-renowned Beauty & Personal Care brand? We are looking for the best marketing candidate who is willing to head innovation, equity and brand design for Dove’s skin cleansing business in North America.
Dove is Unilever’s largest brand, valued at €6.5 billion Turnover, and is central to our Personal Care and Beauty & Wellbeing businesses. Over the past decade, Dove has grown consistently, driven by its strong purpose and commitment to superior care. As a trailblazer in the beauty industry, Dove has led the shift from toxic beauty ideals to a more inclusive form of beauty.
North America, our largest region and heartland of Dove, represents a significant business, equally divided across Dove Bar and Dove Body Wash. This region is crucial to our success, and we have ambitious growth plans to expand our market share and penetration while future fitting the brand.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to lead the Dove Skin Cleansing business in North America (value at over €1.5 billion turnover), including Bars, Body Wash and Scrubs.
This is a high visibility role within Unilever globally and offers plenty of scope for independent brand and team stewardship, strategic leadership, and creativity. It requires a seasoned leader, innovator, with a business mind and an individual who’s passionate about brand development.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
As head of Dove Skin Cleansing Innovation, Equity and Brand Design for North America, you will lead the brand and business helping to achieve its short & long-term business goals and contributing to the ambitious growth plan established by the brand.
- This role has significant responsibility in driving equity and competitive growth of one of the biggest cells in Unilever
- Responsible for the vision, strategy and growth roadmaps of Dove Skin Cleansing North America, ensuring competitive, double-digit growth
- Develop all the innovations and communications for Dove Skin Cleansing North America
- Lead the social transformation of Dove Skin Cleansing in the US
- Lead interdisciplinary teams across functions as part of the GBT leadership team. CMI to maximize consumer impact, Supply Chain to expedite capabilities and maximize efficiency, Claims & Legal to develop and support superiority claims, Finance to build profitable business cases, Packaging and Creative services
- Crafting mixes from intuition and insight, requesting resource, developing project teams and networks to deliver new product benefits, claims and demonstrations of proof
- High visibility role within Unilever globally with direct exposure to senior leadership, offering plenty of scope for independent brand and team stewardship, strategic leadership and creativity. A leader, innovator and individual passionate about brand development and for business turnaround is required for this role.
- Develops a three-year funnel for Fuel for Growth activity across the brand and category
- Leads team of 5 managers and their teams by providing mentorship and coaching as well as ensuring team members have the appropriate tools and resources to deliver on objectives. Inspire, energize, and develop your reports to build world-class consumer understanding and category insights to fuel breakthrough products, claims and communication ideas across these markets
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- Leading edge in all facets of brand development (i.e. brand positioning/equity, mix development, premium packaging, engagement, brand in culture) and have robust experience leading brand platforms and complex innovation / engagement plans.
- A balance of strategic, analytical and strong creative skills
- Proven track record in brand strategy development, development of innovation (bog bets) and engagement platforms, brand equity management and in growth brands
- Deep developed market experience (US experience strongly preferred)
- A passionate crafter, that doesn’t compromise in the delivery of superior, premium, delightful mixes even in high pressure circumstances; able to mobilize teams to deliver to this vision.
- Highly intuitive with storytelling ability; able to spot issues & opportunities and know how to frame messages in a simple and compelling way.
- A strong skill base across the entire marketing skill set, including digital/social first acumen, strategy development, consumer love, and innovation management
- A passion and understanding of the digital and social landscape, including experience with Data Driven Marketing, precision assets, modular creativity and social + cultural marketing
- A combination of real consumer passion and entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience in Beauty, Personal or Premium categories preferred
- A huge drive and passion specifically working with agencies externally and customer development internally.
- Deep passion and understanding of the external environment/culture and impact this has on brands and consumer experience

Accountability
- Member of the Dove SCL GBLT bringing expertise to benefit the wider brand whilst benefitting from all the stewardship, expertise and global capabilities.
- Member of the US SCL extended LT and BG PC PCMLT extended team.
- Crafting the right plan to unlock consistent growth for Dove SCL in the US and Canada.
- Drives US innovation projects when needed, leverages/tailors the global agenda where appropriate.
- Manages the development of the engagement programs leveraging the power of world class partnerships, influencers as well as brand owned channels.

- Helping achieve the growth ambition of the brand and to keep a double-digit growth for Dove in a highly competitive, fast growing and disruptive skin cleansing marketplace. Keeping up with the pace of innovations and communication timings for NA
- To push the boundaries and create disruptive, compelling category and brand visions that drive retailer excitement, deep commitments to partner and both innovation and communication that’s best in class. (esp. socially)
- Build an upskilled, world class marketing team and excellent collaboration with agencies, partners and the entire Dove team

Pay: The pay range for this position is $210,600 to $421,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
