JOB PURPOSE
As the SHE Manager at the Unilever Hammond Dove Bar Soap Factory, you will be the driving force behind our Vision Zero—delivering zero harm to people, plant, and community. This factory-based leadership role is responsible for not only ensuring compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations, but also for building and sustaining a world-class safety culture. You will influence every level of the organization, inspiring and empowering teams to prioritize safety above all else and achieve outstanding results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership: Champion the Vision Zero agenda by relentlessly influencing and engaging all site personnel—from the shop floor to senior management—to adopt a safety-first mindset.
- Culture Builder: Lead the transformation of the site’s safety culture, ensuring that safety is embedded in every decision and action. Foster an environment where every individual feels responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.
- Performance Driver: Own and drive SHE performance, setting ambitious targets and holding the organization accountable for achieving zero injuries and incidents.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with all local, national, and Unilever SHE requirements. Proactively identify, assess, and control risks to prevent harm.
- Communication & Influence: Serve as a visible, approachable leader who communicates clearly and confidently. Have the courage and skill to hold tough, strategic conversations that challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
- Incident Management: Lead thorough investigations of all safety incidents, ensuring root causes are addressed and learnings are shared across the site.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with site leadership, employees, occupational health professionals, and external partners to advance the safety agenda.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize data, trend analysis, and best practices to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven ability to influence and lead at all levels in a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of driving culture change and having courageous conversations.
- Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining a high-performance safety culture.
- Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, risk management, and compliance in a factory setting.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into action.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a factory-based SHE or process improvement role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- University degree in Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Flexibility to work across shifts in a 24/7 operation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Sustainability.
- Experience leading large-scale culture change initiatives.
Pay: The pay range for this position is $115,680 to $173,520. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
