JOB PURPOSE

The Collaborative Manufacturing Operations role works within the Foods PTAB business where the operational management of our CM’s is a key part of your role. You are the ‘face’ of Unilever towards our CM, and the position also grants you to be the ‘key contact’ of our external sites. The job gives you an exciting platform to work within a multi-cultural team and grants an opportunity to work with many collaborative manufacturing partners across PTAB.

You will be a ‘spider in the web‘ for Safety, Quality ,Service/ Operational topics thereby maintaining a good relation with procurement, R&D, planning and central quality team. This opportunity can also help you to showcase your potential in other supporting pillars of the business as well a platform to learn.

You will build in-depth knowledge of the key processes and controls at our CM’s to be able to make trade-offs to improve service and cost with quality always being a ‘non-negotiable’. You will also support and be an active part of several SC (manufacturing) network projects.

The role works together with the PLTs to ensure products manufactured in third party manufacturers meets Unilever specification, standards and regulatory requirements and provides support for OTIF new product introduction (innovation, rejuvenation, activity requests), execution management and performance improvement.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Leading/Supporting the CMO organization
  • Set & Improve Organization/Governance model to support Growth, Control, Quality and Service
  • Leading/Supporting regular supplier performance reviews and drive improvement programs
  • Leading/Supporting the CM cost & efficiency improvement program
  • Leading/Supporting the CM Innovation program and landing Innovation projects OTIF
  • Scoping for future capabilities to support business growth


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Governing the CMO organization and the CM improvement program for the Foods BG across PTAB in cooperation with key functions. Key accountabilities required includes:

  • Representing CMO/SC in the cross functional CM cell teams.
  • Providing CM capabilities and network strategy to drive growth for the Foods category.
  • Network strategy alignment with Brand, Procurement, R&D, Quality and Planning teams.
  • Assuring supply security and delivery of plan as per demand.
  • Leading the operational onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Landing innovation projects OTIF with collaborative manufacturers.
  • Support and govern a continuous improvement program within the Nutrition CM network to drive growth and cost improvements
  • Driving technical capability assessments, intensive care, and non-conformance monitoring
  • Identifying and managing saving projects from CM (as part of the CM cell teams)

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    Essential

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
    • 3+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality and/or R&D     
    • Professional experience in relationship building with external parties
    • E2E mindset and very good communication skills
    • Excellent understanding of an integrated supply chain network
    • Proven & recognized achievements in project management on technical and innovation projects

    Preferred

    • Foods technology background & WCM knowledge
    • Significant experience in delivering highly efficient Production and Planning operations
    • Financial awareness / cost understanding including make or buy analysis and decision making
    • Previous experience is SC studies and/or business modelling, analyst, or business consulting
    • Knowledge and previous experience at Management of Quality
    • Professional experience with third party manufacturers
