JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Packaging Technologist who will manage and execute packaging activities - to support delivery of project tasks including system definitions, technology implementations, mould approvals, masterbatch developments, artwork approvals, laboratory tests and other validation tests. You will closely work together with production, procurement, engineering, marketing, quality, planning and other operational teams to ensure all equipment and processes within the packaging area are fully validated. Together with the technical execution, you will be responsible from packaging related timings and cost requirements.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Develop, test, review and recommend proposals for packaging alternatives based on business needs
Support marketing, procurement and supply chain departments about network preparation and project management steps
Perform benchmarking studies and inspecting and evaluating consumers, customers, new packaging technologies and competitors in the market
Build and maintain relations with existing & new third-party producers and packaging suppliers and support capability development programs.
Create and review package test plan protocols, monitor testing, and interpret data to ensure package integrity throughout product life cycle
Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions
Responsible for scoping and execution of production trials ensuring; scheduling and availability of components, documentation, approvals, sampling/testing, stakeholder relations to ensure functional support.
Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials and design,efficiency, transportation, and storage.
Support local counterparts about specifications,codes activities,aw approvals and project details and action plans.
Lead execution of tests & trials at laboratory or full factory scale and report test & trial outcomes
Lead secondary and tertiary packaging development
Manage multiple projects within tight timelines
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
University degree in engineering; preferably chemical, industrial, material engineering background
1-2 years of experience in packaging related areas or in production,quality departments of FMCG
Must have multitasking ability
Problem solving and decision-making skills are necessary.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Have good communication skills.
Have good oral and written knowledge of English
Have good knowledge of MS Office
