Job Purpose

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world.  If you are willing to set-up, operate, and maintain machinery, usually in a manufacturing setting and being responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained, then this role is just for you!

What will your main responsibilities be?

  • Comply with all safety, health and quality regulations.

  • Set up machinery for operation.

  • Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.

  • Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.

  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance.

  • Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor.

  • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area.

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery.

  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.

  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.

  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.

  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.

  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.

  • Maintain activity logs.

  • Compound or process ingredients or dyes, according to formulas.

  • Read work orders to determine production specifications or information.

  • Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Mix or blend ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times.

  • Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.

  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.

What you need to succeed?

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Production.

  • 3 - 6 years in similar role in FMCG industry specially in deodorant production.

  • Previous proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Understanding of production and plant processes.

  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to work in a team.

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time.

  • Willingness to work in shifts.

  • Proficiency with hand tools.

  • Ability to use digital apps & good command in Microsoft office.

  • Ability to use SCADA systems.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships and manage effectively at a store/customer level.

  • Understanding channel & customer’s levers to build compelling selling stories that land key priorities and drive mutual growth.

  • Strong ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation (internally & externally).

  • Strong Bias for action to drive through change with multiple markets /stakeholders. Business Development & channel strategy building.
