JOB PURPOSE
The role is part of the Engineering Team at the Leioa factory and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring engineering projects. The person in this role will be responsible for controlling project deadlines, costs, and quality. They will prepare budgets, request quotes, place
orders, and launch projects, as well as managing all the required documentation. Likewise, the role will be responsible for coordinating and supervising multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, operators).
The role will provide occasional design engineering support throughout the lifecycle of other projects, from collaborating on the summary and working with engineers on the delivery of factory projects to completing the execution, commissioning, and OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery.
The role will work closely with other factory departments (operations, quality, safety, finance, and maintenance). You will liaise with the Unilever Group Engineering Center to ensure that all projects comply with relevant central designs, Unilever standards, and the implementation of best practices.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Overall management and leadership of engineering projects: planning, execution,
- monitoring, and closure. Establishing phases, resources, and timelines to ensure timely and proper delivery.
- Lead and manage project control in accordance with technical requirements or standards (URS).
- Lead pre-project change management.
- Manage the financial control (capex) of projects in coordination with Group Finance, supervising expenditure and ensuring alignment with defined budgets and objectives.
- Lead and manage purchasing in coordination with Group Procurement and/or suppliers.
- Develop projects using the UMS (Unilever Manufacturing System) and EEM (Early Equipment Management) methodologies.
- Supervise work in progress on a daily basis and sign the associated permits, assuming technical and safety responsibility for the activities under your management.
- Continuously update project control and monitoring documentation (equipment lists, plans, progress reports).
- Communicate project progress and objectives to other departments from a technical perspective, promoting work teams and governance structures when necessary.
- Participate in engineering governance committees, contributing to decision-making, project prioritization, and coordination with other areas involved.
- Work with suppliers or contractors to develop safety prevention plans applicable to each activity, ensuring regulatory compliance and the protection of people. Ensure that all employees and contractors under your responsibility comply with all safety, quality, and environmental standards necessary to perform the work.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic, or related engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Manager in engineering or technology consulting and/or industrial environments.
- Experience in project management and/or multidisciplinary teams. This involves making reliable decisions to meet project requirements.
- Good knowledge of engineering work and experience in people management (both internal factory staff and external subcontractors).
- Principles of maintenance and best practices (working knowledge).
- UMS-EEM (preferably fully operational)
- Cost Engineering (Fully Operational)
- Good command of written and spoken English (advanced level - minimum B2).
- Proficiency in Microstation and AutoCAD 2D platforms.
