MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
As the Senior Manager Competitive Buying and Cash, you will be responsible for delivering the savings and cash ambition by bringing global Lighthouse programs into India. This role will involve strategic thinking, cross-team collaboration, analytical rigour and go getter mindset to achieve financial targets and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- •Global to Local: Procurement has robust strategy to deliver competitiveness through strategic programs like Joy of buying, joint buying, backward integration, CRM (Commodity Risk Management), material benchmarking, trader optimization, inbound logistics optimization, and focused tail spend management. Key role will be to build India initiatives under these programs and implement them through cross team collaboration.
- Local Program: Build additional strategic pillars beyond global to step up competitiveness across Directs and Indirect spend. Implement the projects in collaboration with responsible teams.
- Cash Improvement: Analyze current payment terms with suppliers and identify opportunities for payment terms extension. Work with Global and local buyers to land these initiatives. Collaborate with finance and buyers to develop new financing models for cash improvement.
- Savings and Cost Governance: Set up a strong governance structure for reviews, decision making and unlocks. Analyze procurement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare and present reports on cost savings and cash flow
- Material Price Forecast Champion for India: Lead the overall forecast conversation with Global buyers and local teams. Understand the impacts and drivers. Prepare a clear narrative to be shared with business stakeholders.
- Business engagement-Work closely with Business Groups & Business Units to identify key initiatives, its objectives and deliverables and drive the agenda through supplier partnerships. Give clear forecasts to the business based on market trends and analysis of factors affecting the market: provide rationale, commentary, and analysis to support forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or Supply Chain Management. MBA or relevant professional certification is a preferred.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in procurement, finance, or supply chain management, with a focus on cost optimization and cash flow management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in procurement and supply chain management.
