Job Summary
The Customer Manager - Metcash & Independents Ice Cream role is a key Customer role within the total business. Externally facing, the role will manage Metcash (and all Independent Banners therein) for the IH & OOH Ice Cream Business.
This is a pivotal customer role, key to delivering the set USG and Profit targets. The success of the Customer Manager in this role will rely on the development of strong working relationships with all key contacts at the Accounts as well as the individual’s ability to create and adapt a plan and portfolio, and drive engagement with all key stakeholders.
The Customer Managers responsibility is to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned geographic sales territory and formulate strategies and action plans to maximise sales of Unilever within Independent retailers, ensuring achievement of divisional and personal targets in line with company sales policies and strategies.
Role Responsibilities:
Delivery of Turnover, Customer Profitability and TTS budgets for Independents IH & OOH Ice Cream.
Develop strong relationships with both internal (e.g. Category Manager, Shopper Insights Managers, Marketing) & external customers (e.g. Category Managers, Trading Managers, Category Directors Buyers, Supply contacts, Marketing contacts).
Developing and owning in-store activation events in the Independent Channel where appropriate.
Developing, landing & ultimately delivering Joint Business Plans with Metcash state & key accounts.
Executing and delivering promotional plan with all Customers in their remit.
Discuss, agree and land Gap Filling initiatives (where appropriate).
Lead range and merchandising reviews (where appropriate), working in collaboration with the Customer Business Manager.
Deliver key Category Team initiatives at Customer e.g. Price Increases, Brand Activation, NPD etc.
Work with Customer Service Team to ensure customer service issues are resolved efficiently.
