Job Purpose:

To direct utility maintenance activities and personnel in the manufacturing facility

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance of facility, refrigeration system, warehouse, freezer and infrastructure equipment (boilers, air compressors, hot & cold water systems, cip systems, etc.) to include daily scheduling, planning and review of work and PMs for utility mechanics to allow seven day/week 24-hour coverage of the systems and facility.
  • Leads PSM program for site and is, with TPM/Maintenance Mgr, main point of contact for audits from regulatory agencies.
  • Leads Spare Parts function / operation at site
  • Support both capital and in-plant project work
  • Provide technical support to mechanics as required
  • Maintain critical spare parts program
  • Ensure all PMs related to refrigeration systems and the regulatory programs are up to date and complete
  • Maintain P&ID drawings for the refrigeration systems; help ensure accuracy and update as necessary
  • Work to achieve “Zero” accidents by taking a leadership role in safety
  • Investigate and identify root causes of accidents, quality holds or environmental non-compliance utilizing the TPM RCA process in order to prevent recurrence of similar incidents
  • Maintain leak logs, relief valve logs, etc.
  • Maintain water treatment system for boilers and condensers with help of outside vendor
  • Maintain plant system, e.g., fire sprinkler system, security systems, paging systems, etc.
  • Manage any non-capital projects that require outside contractors or vendors 

What do you need to succeed:

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/chemical engineering
  • 3-4 years of related experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting
  • Applied knowledge in ammonia/ refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors
