Salary: 48 K – 66 K based on experience and background.

Location: Rotterdam – the Netherlands

This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Unilever’s Home Care business, joining the Home Care Europe team.

As a business unit, Home Care Europe is 1.6bn with a clear and ambitious strategy called "Bring it Home!" that drives our vision to become the most admired home care company. This strategy consists of three main pillars: where to play, how to win, and fuel for growth.

The Digital Marketing, Media and dCommerce (DMC) team integrates Digital Marketing, Media, Retail Media, D-Commerce and Shopper Marketing, seeking to bring the best consumer experiences for our brands in Home Care. Our key mission is to be Unilever’s fully integrated growth driving digital acceleration engine that drives our brands to be unmissable through planning and delivery of world class Digital Marketing, Media and Digital Commerce.

JOB PURPOSE:

As the Media Specialist for Homecare, you will be responsible for shaping and executing media strategies that drive brand awareness, reach, and engagement across various channels. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to plan, buy, and optimize media placements, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize impact and ROI. Your deep understanding of the media landscape, including digital, social, and traditional channels, will be crucial in creating integrated campaigns that resonate with our target audience. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to align media efforts with broader marketing goals, working closely with creative, digital, and analytics teams to monitor performance, analyze results, and continuously improve campaign effectiveness. Through data-driven insights and innovative media planning, you will play a key role in elevating the Homecare brand’s presence in the market  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Media Strategy Execution:

  • Ownership of Execution: Collaborate with brand teams and media agencies to determine necessary assets, improve asset quality, and ensure timely. Key member of planning sessions for each campaign.

  • Lead and coordinate: Deliver best in class holistic media plans (offline and online) for the cluster markets  that fully leverage data and insights to target media effectively, that are accountable for building brand power. 

  • Media Innovations:  Drive Media and digital media innovation – pioneering the future of media and data driven marketing through a continuous test, learn and scale approach. Areas will include connected TV, live streaming, social commerce, podcasts, DTC, Gaming or AI where relevant, to stay ahead of industry trends and enhance campaign effectiveness.

  • Monthly Reporting: Manage and report on media budgets, including retail media,Influencer on a monthly basis.

Retail Media & Performance Marketing

  • Drive Retail Media Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive retail media strategy that aligns with overall brand and business goals, ensuring optimal visibility and engagement across key retail platforms.

  • Collaboration with Retail Partners: Work closely with retail partners to build and execute joint media plans, leveraging co-op funding and shared data to drive mutual growth and improve Return of Investment.

  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Monitor campaign performance across various retail channels, using data analytics to refine targeting, optimize spend, and maximize conversion rates.

  • Content & Ad Creation: Oversee the development of compelling and customized content and ad placements, in collaboration with creative teams, to drive shopper engagement and sales conversion on retailer sites.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, eCommerce, and insights to align retail media efforts with broader digital marketing strategies and product launches.

Measurement and Tracking:

  • Lead on Media learnings: Oversee the measurement and tracking of media performance, leading on holistic media learnings by platform and quarterly business reviews (QBRs). Own all brand lift studies (BLS) and sales lift studies (SLS) from a media perspective.

  • Lead on Competitor tracking: Using Power BI and Agency reports, keep up with industry and competitor Media advertising ready to share with the wider business.

Stakeholder- External Agency Management (Media Agency)

  • Collaborates with Marketing / Customer Strategy and Planning teams to ensure the full end-to-end plan works on and offline with key customers​. 

  • Work with the agencies / external partners to bring to media plan execution to life.  

  • Maximise efficiencies via value extractions with external partners/agencies for the markets​.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to advice on all thing’s media and data driven marketing to internal stakeholders through depth of media knowledge, providing expertise on specific channels and opportunities, data strategies, including ecommerce, and by explaining complex information in an easily digestible way. 

  • Collaboration skills that encourage multi-stakeholder projects to thrive. 

  • A pioneer spirit to drive and embed innovation into our media and data strategies and plans. 

  • Problem solving mindset, able to work with agility and adapt to a changing media and market
    conditions.   

  • Strong analytical skills to define, interpret and respond to data insights. 

  • Outstanding communication skills to focus stakeholders and embed best practices. 

  • Cutting edge understanding of media and brand communication landscape. 

  • Holistic brand communication management experience at a large brand. Or, cross-brand
    leadership experience at an agency. 

  • Advertising/Media budget management experience  

  • Experience in driving change and embedding innovation in the business 

  • Experience in handling complex stakeholders across matrixed organisations 

  • Experience in data driven marketing and performance/ecommerce   

  • Exposure to disciplines as such as CRM, Mar-Tech and Ad-Tech platform management
