JOB PURPOSE:
To lead the site’s Electrical function while driving key capital and energy efficiency projects. The role ensures robust asset management, high reliability of electrical and automation systems, and successful end-to-end delivery of projects—from concept and design through execution and commissioning—meeting business KPIs on Safety, Quality, Cost, Compliance, and Sustainability.
DIMENSIONS OF THIS ROLE:
- Full accountability for asset care management of Electrical systems across the plant.
- Leadership of a team managing Electrical, Instrumentation, DG Operations, and Project Execution.
- Direct oversight of:
• 9 staff for utility asset Management, RCM-utility, and DG operations.
• 5 staff for process asset Management and RCM-process.
• ~18 contractors (Engineer/Supervisors/Technicians/workmen) for Electrical/Project activities
- Strong dotted-line partnership with Shift Executives in Utilities/production to ensure smooth operations.
The following facilities will be under the charge of the incumbent to ensure equipment healthiness and availability (Ownership Areas):
• DG Sets - 5 Nos, 1650 KVA
• 33 KV/11 KV Substation and associated equipment including Transformers, Panels, UPS
• Plant Instrumentation and Automation systems
• Refrigeration Plant ~2200 TR
• Air Compressors, Forced Draught Ventilation and Air Handling systems
Nett Assets entrusted: INR 85 Crores (£12 M)
Budgets handled: R&M – INR 1.5 Crore; Energy & Project Capex as identified.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as Site Energy Manager, coordinating all energy reduction initiatives and executing improvement projects from concept to completion.
• Lead capital projects (design, vendor selection, execution, commissioning) ensuring safety, cost, quality, and sustainability targets.
• Support Site Engineering Manager in implementing Engineering/Asset Management strategies.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, EHS, QMS, and regulatory standards across all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
• Evaluate and advise on engineering impact for facility modifications; ensure documentation as per statutory and company requirements.
• Liaison with regulatory authorities including Electricity Department and statutory bodies for compliance.
• Lead and mentor Electrical & Instrumentation team; develop skills, training, and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure spares and equipment availability strategy for ownership areas.
• Drive automation and digital upgrades for DCS and PLC systems.
• Deliver accurate MIS reporting for stakeholders.

Work Experience:
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
- 8–12 years managing Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance in continuous process industries
- Hands-on troubleshooting of PLC/DCS automation systems
- Proven track record in Project & Capex Management
- Experience in Energy Management & statutory compliance
Knowledge:
- Modern maintenance management systems
- Automation, Project Engineering & Management
- Engineering standards & Codes of Practice
- Process Safety concepts (HAZOP/HAZID, electrostatic ignition, flammables handling)
- QMS in food industry or equivalent
- Regulatory Acts (IBR, Electricity Act, etc.)
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
- Energy management expertise
- Project management skills
