Job Purpose

As a member of the Global Nutrition Commodities team, support the Global Procurement Manager specifically on the Soft Commodities, Starches & Derivatives Team, to develop and lead the implementation of the portfolio procurement strategy in the assigned BUs to deliver business targets and objectives. This is an Individual Contributor Role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in defining the supply strategies and translating these into Strategy-into-Action plans; and take ownership in execution and delivery of the action plans.

  • Drive on-time global contract implementation into clusters, including system maintenance. 

  • Drive and maintain close collaboration across global, region and local levels in Procurement and R&D-teams for effective execution and delivery of defined actions 

  • Maintain the relationships with the business stakeholders; understand their business needs and create their buy-in to the sourcing strategies.

  • Deliver Cash & Cost Reduction opportunities in line with the global and regional targets

  • Lead bidding exercise, proposal analysis, and support in negotiations with key suppliers.

  • Support in driving and delivering Unilever`s climate ambition.

  • Rollout portfolio initiatives (e.g. ASA/AMA, Resilience, Market development, etc) to create more leverage 

  • Support in the resolution of supply and operational issues.

  • Manage current complexity, Support and drive complexity reduction programmes.

  • Ensure compliance with Codes & Policies (i.e. USQS etc).

  • Ensure risk mitigation and create regional Business Continuity Plans (BCP’s).

  • Own and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in procurement processes.

  • Organise and execute price forecasting in line with defined processes. 

  • Support innovation projects through strong collaboration with R&D-team, providing market intelligence, supplier capabilities and capacity

  • Maintain and develop strong global and regional supplier relationships 

  • Organise and maintain good record keeping 

  • Contribute to delivery of overall team results.

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

  • Minimal Bachelor’s Degree

  • >5 years of experience in Procurement, SC or finance experience, FMCG experience. 

  • Experience in Cross Functional working, or working experience with/in R&D 

  • Experience in Project management, organized and able to multitask 

  • Experience in and understanding of business processes, and managing complexity

  • Open to business travel as required

  • Supply Strategy Development and Implementation (e.g. collecting relevant information).

  • Supply Market Intelligence and Analysis (e.g. establish understanding & analyses of portfolios and underlying markets).

  • Supplier Selection and Development (e.g. assessing supplier performance, screening suppliers, supplier qualification and on boarding).

  • Managing alliances and relationships.
