Background and Purpose of the Role:
The North America Warehouse Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic continuous improvement projects in one or more of the seven 7 Distribution Centers in the US and Canada. They are responsible for managing the 3rd party logistics provider (3PL) relationship, storage & handling of finished goods thru the DC network and the loading of customer orders all within the budgeted guidelines. In addition, the WM will manage On Time Loading, highest possible Customer Case Fill at optimal costs while ensuring quality, environmental, and safety standards are met as per the Unilever guidelines.
Who You Are and What You will Do:
In this role, your primary accountabilities include:
Build and sustain a collaborative and productive relationship with Unilever 3PLs to drive service levels, cost reductions, productivity efficiencies, process simplification and loss reduction.
Lead daily Standup meetings with DC’s, publish Site KPI’s to be reviewed weekly in addition to participation in Bi-annual 3PL leadership business reviews.
Collaborate with 3PL to drive improvements in productivities, collect material movement data, ensure DC profiles are maintained and meet the business needs, and that savings srograms are tracked and delivered in year.
That the day-to-day operations achieve elevated levels of Customer Service, Ship only Unrestricted product, elevated level of order accuracy, secured loads to minimize transit damage, all ready to load ahead of dock pick up appointment.
Inventory accuracy is maintained and that SAP & WMS systems remain clean, and product receipt and order fulfillment are done right the first time to ensure FEFO procedures are followed.
Proper yard management is in place, so trailers are unloaded in under 24 hours to avoid accessorial and ensure product is available in the 4 walls when orders need to be fulfilled.
Ensure that reason codes for cuts, OT Loading, stock returns, and rejections are assigned correctly at the time of shipment or receiving goods returns.
Drive site level compliance with 3PLs by ensuring:
All operations in Warehouse and Distribution are within the agreed SHEQ and food safety guidelines.
That Continuous Improvement programs are in place, proper root causes are performed, and corrections implemented when issues occur.
Engagement and support in government / local relations regarding the site operations
That the site contingency plan (BPC) is live and maintained.
Coordinate across Unilever teams to optimize DC operations by:
Leading the management of month end close.
Providing input and help to optimizing transport capacity and trailer pools with 3PL’s & transportation.
Managing the effective processing of supplier invoices and payments to 3PLs
Supporting procurement in the preparation/negotiations of contracts and Pallet management; Revenue for investigation of customer claims and repack for integrated sites.
What You will Need to Succeed:
Required:
Ability to travel to and work at the DC approximately 20%
4-year University degree in Supply chain, Engineering or business.
Industry certification in APICS, Six Sigma or lean principles
Strong Business acumen pertaining to Supply Chain and Operations
At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or Distribution operations
Experience in managing 3PLs.
Exposure to Order to Cash, procure to pay cycle, and SC Planning
Budgeting & Planning
Preferred:
Master of Business Administration or advanced Logistics Degree
FMCG experience

Pay: The pay range for this position is $99,760 to $149,640. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
