JOB PURPOSE:
The Accounting Analystis responsible for a variety of financial task crucial to the success of the IC Business, such as overseeing all the accounting records that are performed in the monthwithin a fast-paced finance departmentwhile adhering to established accounting standards, as well as prepared on time basis financial statements reports accordingly with the accounting principles of the country and the group.
This role is key to maximizing financial resources, as reporting on time basis and following the accounting principles the multiple financial statements, explaining the main drivers that cause variances in the balance sheet and P&L, overseeing any possible finding in the records that could cause an impact in the monthly results, maintaining strong relationships with internal and externalauditors, as well as assisting to manager and controller in the overview of balance sheet and P&L positions.
We are seeking a reliable, pro-active and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst that directly works with manager to contribute to the sustainability and success of the company, protecting it from financial risks and aligning its resources with corporate objectives.
To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial records. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
The role reports to theIC Assistant Controller ManagerLatam, providing visibility, assurance, and construction offinancial statements accordingly with accounting standards, managing a strong relationship with auditors, mitigating any potential finding in the Balance Sheet and P&L, as well asbeing a key business partner to multiple financial and non-financial areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Statements Preparation MEC & FCST:
Prepare mainFinancial Statements of the group such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, having full ownership of these reports, andensuring that are reported on time basis andin accordance with the local and international accounting standards(IFRS).
Oversee tomaintain global accounting policies, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards in all the items of the financial statements.
Ensure to have clearly identified the main variances between local and international requirements in the financial records, so the financial statements are prepared and reported accurately for both internal stakeholders (Managers/Controllers) and external regulatory bodies.
Prepared monthly/quarterly/annually financial reports either in the pre-close records for any anticipatedaction to perform in the financial statements and in the post-close to review and present to manager and controller sign off.
Work closely with Recordto Report team, ensuring that all the accounting records in the month are in accordance with the Group’s APM and on time basis with global times, ensuring the financial health of an organization, and avoiding any impact in the P&L.
Ensure to understandand analyze Ice Cream monthly/quarterly financial results (versus prior year, prior month and forecast), and clearly articulate themes and performance drivers; this includes driving efforts to understand root causes of variances and making recommendations to enhance business performance.
Assess the impact of changes of IFRS, ensuring internal compliance.
Facilitate budgeting financial process including managing the data collection and consolidation process with FP&A Teams;analyzing the information to validate completeness and accuracy in the preparation of Balance Sheet and P&L forecast for profit sharing and business strategy purposes.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and ensure that both group and local accounting practices are compliant.
Compliance Internal & External Audit:
Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits. This includes preparing necessary documentation, coordinating audit activities, and ensuring that all follow-up actions are completed on time basis.
Maintain strong relationship with external auditors and other localregulatory authoritiesto facilitate smooth audit processes and address any concerns that may arise.
Ensure to issue on time basis and without any potential risk, the findings in the financial records in accordance with the external and local authority.
Ensure that any accounting SOX controls are done and completed on time basis and in accordance with the different risk management one pagers.
Develop and implement corrective actions to strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks.
Accounting Business Partnership:
Develop and implement a strategy to support ongoing accounting and reporting knowledge within the finance and non-finance community.
Provide accounting advice, maintain a tracker of key issues, and ensure accurate application of accounting standards.
Providetimely guidance on accounting implications of business decisions and deliver training through various resources.
Ensure that the company adheres to applicable local and national regulations that impact finances.
Efficient Processing:
Stay tunned for any improvement in the financial process to automize financial records preparation, simplify workflows and centralizing non-key activities in order to enhance productivity focusing inthe analysis of information.
Complete special projects as assigned for presentation to senior management.
Develop Accounting reporting dashboards appropriate for various stakeholders.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,Finance & Administration, or related fields.
Over 5 years of experience in Accounting, particularly in roles that prepare and analyzefinancial records and audit relationships.
Comprehensive understanding of balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements, and main drivers that cause variances in those records and financial risk management.
Proven experience in Accountingduties that allows a correct decision-making.
Knowledge of local and international accounting standards and their respective main variances of each ones.
Familiarity with SOX compliance, auditing processes, and risk management controls.
Power BI
Experience in the business partnership with multiple areas either financial or non-financial.
Shown skills with MS Office (excellent skills in Excel and medium in Power Apps) and SAP Financemodule.
Excellent analytical ability.
Good communication skills in Spanish and English.
Ability to challenge pro-actively.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively and explain technical concepts clearly.
