JOB PURPOSE:

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a highly skilled IT Technical Architect to join our dynamic team. The role is part of the Enterprise Architecture team.

The newly created Ice Cream Technology function will drive the technology set-up, standalone design and implementation of all required technology capabilities to enable Unilever’s Ice Cream business to become a fully functioning standalone company, separate from Unilever.

The IT Technical Architect is responsible for designing and implementing the technology platform architecture across the enterprise e.g. Cloud, Network. This role is pivotal in setting the standards and guiding the new organization’s technical direction to ensure scalability, security, and innovation. The IT Technical Architect will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop a technology platforms roadmap that supports the long-term business strategy and ensures the company is equipped to handle future technological challenges. This role will require collaboration with technology and business leaders, partners and Unilever IT teams to support the overall set up of a future-fit IT function for the standalone Ice Cream organization.

The successful candidate will be one that has significant IT expertise with a proven record of leading large-scale transformations, has a passion for emerging technologies and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architecture Strategy: Define the technology platform architecture e.g. Cloud and Network, ensuring alignment with the Ice Creams overall business objectives.
• Technology Standards and Governance: Enforce technology standards, frameworks, and processes that ensure consistency, security, and efficiency across the enterprise.
• Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to teams, including product management and development, promoting best practices and standards, to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and development, to align technology initiatives with business needs and architectural standards.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure technology platform solutions e.g. Cloud and Network, deliver benefits and are optimized for performance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all technology platform architecture.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, with a focus on cloud and network architecture.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are highly desirable.
